YONKERS, NY, February 25, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kirk-Jearvin Gumarin Habana has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Habana has built a respected career in music education and currently serves as the owner and director of Hudson View Piano Studio in Yonkers, New York, a role he has held since 2024. As founder, he leads the studio's vision, curriculum, and growth while continuing to teach and mentor students. His work centers on helping students not only learn to play the piano, but to perform with confidence and pride.
At Hudson View Piano Studio, the focus is clear: students learn to play well. Drawing from years of conservatory-level training, Mr. Habana brings the discipline, technical clarity, and high standards of classical study into a format that feels engaging and accessible for today's families. His teaching emphasizes strong playing fundamentals, expressive performance, and the steady building of real skill at the instrument.
Equally important, the studio is designed to be a safe place for students to grow. Lessons incorporate elements of coaching and emotional encouragement that help students develop perseverance, focus, and self-belief. Students are guided not only through musical challenges, but through the process of learning how to practice patiently, recover from mistakes, and perform with courage. The goal is not simply to develop pianists, but to help shape disciplined, confident young people.
A defining achievement of Mr. Habana's career is the development of an innovative group piano model that blends the best of traditional conservatory training with modern educational tools. He launched his studio during the COVID-19 pandemic, transforming a period of uncertainty into an opportunity to build something purposeful for the Yonkers community. The program integrates structured technology and platforms such as the Piano Express to create interactive practice systems that keep students motivated while reinforcing technique and consistency.
Students learn alongside peers, building friendships while developing musical discipline. The group setting encourages accountability and healthy performance experiences, helping students grow comfortable playing in front of others from an early stage. Parents have responded to the visible progress their children make — not just in musical ability, but in confidence, focus, and resilience.
Prior to founding Hudson View Piano Studio, Mr. Habana operated Habana Music Studio from 2020 to 2024. He established the studio following his graduate studies at the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University in Georgia. In 2024, he rebranded to Hudson View Piano Studio to reflect a broader vision rooted in the Yonkers community and inspired by the Hudson River.
From 2019 to 2021, Mr. Habana served as an adjunct professor at LaGrange College in Georgia, contributing to collegiate music education through instruction and mentorship. Concurrently, from 2017 to 2021, he was a music instructor at Columbus State University, providing lessons and guidance to students at varying levels of proficiency.
In 2020, he was appointed interim music preparatory division coordinator at Columbus State University's Schwob School of Music. In this role, he directed community-based teaching initiatives for students of all ages and organized workshops at local schools, including Rainey-McCullers School of the Arts, where he presented masterclasses and supported band programs.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Habana served as a graduate student instructor and studio assistant at Columbus State University from 2016 to 2020, refining his teaching approach while completing advanced performance studies. In 2019, he also worked as a clinician for the Rainey-McCullers School of the Arts summer camp, offering specialized instruction for young musicians.
Education has been central to Mr. Habana's professional development. He earned an Artist Diploma in Performance from Columbus State University in 2020, a credential that bridges master's-level study with doctoral-level preparation. He completed a Master of Music in Performance at Columbus State University in 2018, following a Master of Music in Performance from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, in 2016. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Pedagogy from Bob Jones University in 2014.
Throughout his academic career, Mr. Habana earned recognition for musical excellence through placements in Music Teachers National Association competitions and concerto competitions. Most notably, he was a finalist in the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition.
Reflecting on his work, Mr. Habana attributes his dedication to his Christian faith and sense of purpose, shaped by his upbringing as the son of Filipino immigrants who sought greater opportunity for their family in the United States. Inspired by his parents' commitment to education and perseverance, he views music instruction as an opportunity to instill discipline, courage, and character in the next generation.
Beyond his professional commitments, Mr. Habana serves as a pianist at his local church and supports youth programs within his faith community. In his personal time, he enjoys reading, practicing piano, and exercising. Looking ahead, he aims to continue strengthening Hudson View Piano Studio as a place where families in Yonkers can experience high-quality piano instruction rooted in strong training, modern innovation, and a supportive environment where students feel safe to grow.
