GLENDORA, CA, February 26, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tamette L. Rappa, M.Ed., has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Rappa currently serves as principal at Colton Joint Unified School District in Bloomington, California, a position she has held since 2024. In this capacity, she is responsible for a wide range of administrative and leadership duties, including welcoming and engaging with students, conducting walkthroughs and formal observations, addressing disciplinary matters, attending meetings with district personnel, supervising lunch duty while interacting with and supporting students, covering Individualized Education Program and 504 meetings and coordinating English Language Development meetings for special events. Her expertise in culture change and her ability to collaborate effectively with parents and families to foster student success have been instrumental in her achievements as an educational leader.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Rappa was assistant principal at Ganesha High School within the Pomona Unified School District from 2019 to 2024. During this period, she played a pivotal role in shaping the school's academic programs and student support initiatives. From 2017 to 2019, she served as vice principal of secondary education at Cajon High School in the San Bernardino Unified School District, where she contributed to the development of comprehensive educational strategies and supported both faculty and students.
From 2015 to 2017, Ms. Rappa was administrator for the Division of Student Programs at the Los Angeles County Office of Education. In this capacity, she worked extensively with probation schools and served as an administrator in male detention camps located in San Dimas and La Verne. Her work in these settings demonstrated her commitment to providing quality education to underserved populations.
Ms. Rappa held the dual roles of director of alternative education and principal at Hillside High School within the Upland Unified School District from 2014 to 2015. She was responsible for overseeing alternative education programs designed to meet the needs of non-traditional learners. From 2010 to 2014, she was assistant principal overseeing athletics, activities, special education, Regional Occupational Program/Career Technical Education, facilities and testing at Canyon High School and Villa Park High School within the Orange Unified School District. Her leadership extended across multiple domains, ensuring that students received well-rounded support.
Ms. Rappa also served as assistant principal for activities, athletics, facilities and professional development at San Clemente High School in the Capistrano Unified School District from 2009 to 2010. The previous year, from 2008 to 2009, she was assistant principal responsible for new teachers, discipline, counseling and activities at Rancho Bernardo High School in the Poway Unified School District.
Before transitioning to administration roles, she spent more than a decade as a teacher, reading coordinator and basketball and tennis coach. During this foundational period, Ms. Rappa made a profound impact by teaching high school students who had never learned to read, an experience she regards as her most notable achievement. She found great fulfillment in instructing students on how to break down and decode words rather than rely solely on memorization. This transformative work was not typically encountered at the high school level but proved life-changing for her students.
As an administrator, Ms. Rappa's most significant accomplishment has been transforming school culture by inspiring both students and staff. She fosters an environment rooted in encouragement and high expectations where every member of the school community—from custodial staff to classroom teachers—embraces their collective responsibility for student success. Her leadership has resulted in a meaningful cultural shift characterized by deep commitment among staff members to support students' growth.
Ms. Rappa's academic background includes a Master of Education from the University of La Verne, earned in 1999, as well as a bachelor's degree in broadcasting. Her initial aspiration was to become a sports broadcaster; however, due to limited opportunities for women in the field at that time, she redirected her focus toward coaching—a path that ultimately led her into education.
Throughout her career, Ms. Rappa has maintained active membership in several professional organizations, including the National Institute for School Leadership through the National Center on Education and the Economy since 2021, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, the National Association of Secondary School Principals and the Association of California School Administrators. She holds certification in life space crisis intervention, which has further enhanced her ability to support students facing significant challenges. She attributes her professional growth to lessons learned from setbacks and mistakes throughout her career as well as her steady commitment to lifelong learning.
Among Ms. Rappa's career highlights are two former students who are now professional athletes: Jason Sanders, kicker for the Miami Dolphins, and Jayden Daniels, quarterback for the Washington Commanders—testament to her lasting impact on those she has mentored throughout her distinguished career in public education. Her influence extends beyond the classroom through civic engagement as a supporter and volunteer with the American Legion Auxiliary for Veterans, volunteer coach for boys' little league baseball and soccer leagues in Glendora and administrator with Kiwanis International. She has also been recognized as a nominee for Administrator of the Year in Pomona.
Beyond her professional commitments, Ms. Rappa enjoys spending time with her son and family, writing poetry and practicing Pilates, a method she has trained in since 2014. Looking ahead, she hopes to advance her career by serving at the district office level in a capacity that suits her strengths, so she can continue to impact students.
