Since 2025, she has served as founder and clinical director of Eastside Rivers Wellness PLLC, where she provides individual and emergency client therapy sessions, supports clients between appointments with online resources and check-ins, leads marketing and outreach initiatives, recruits and trains interns, organizes community leadership groups, manages clinical operations and develops the practice. Prior to her current role, Mrs. Valencia-Bohné was a supervisor at RI International. In this capacity, she guided clinicians in best practices for mental health care, provided supervision and mentorship to staff, and contributed to the development of trauma-informed programming. Her leadership helped shape a supportive environment for both clients and practitioners.

From 2019 to the present, Mrs. Valencia-Bohné worked as a clinician at Peaceful Soul Healing. There, she delivered direct therapeutic services to individuals across diverse backgrounds, further honing her skills in trauma-focused interventions and holistic care.

In 2014, Mrs. Valencia-Bohné served as a mental health clinician at a youth homelessness shelter. During her tenure, she provided critical support to young people experiencing homelessness, many of whom have reached out to her over the years to share their personal successes. Several former clients have pursued higher education and started families, building fulfilling lives. For Mrs. Valencia-Bohné, witnessing these individuals take control of their mental health, build agency and create lives that make them proud remains a source of profound joy and pride.

Mrs. Valencia-Bohné's professional affiliations reflect her dedication to advancing the field of mental health care. She is a past president of WSSCSW and maintains membership with WMHCA, contributing her expertise to industry-related organizations and supporting the growth of the profession.

Her academic background has been instrumental in shaping her approach to mental health services. She earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Washington in Seattle, which provided her with advanced clinical training and research skills essential for effective practice. Additionally, she holds a Master of Arts in international care community development from Northwest University, equipping her with a global perspective on community wellness initiatives. Mrs. Valencia-Bohné completed her undergraduate studies at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, graduating with a bachelor's degree in psychology with minors in sociology and women's studies.

Her journey into the mental health profession was inspired by a lifelong aspiration to help others. Growing up in Yakima with limited access to professional white-collar career opportunities, Mrs. Valencia-Bohné found inspiration through television— which highlighted how meaningful conversations could positively impact individuals and communities alike.

Beyond her clinical work, Mrs. Valencia-Bohné is civically engaged as a board member of College Success Foundation, where she supports initiatives aimed at increasing educational access for underserved populations. Her ongoing contributions have been recognized with honors such as the Leadership Award from WSSCSW. She attributes her success to viewing challenges as opportunities for growth and transformation, emphasizing the importance of community support and collective effort in achieving professional accomplishments. Her resilience, self-belief and the encouragement of her community enabled her to overcome socioeconomic barriers and attain advanced degrees as well as professional distinction.

Outside of her professional commitments, Mrs. Valencia-Bohné enjoys spending time with her daughter, engaging in educational activities and visiting museums and parks together. Looking ahead, she is committed to expanding access to mental health services for individuals with lower socioeconomic status while increasing the availability of community resources and support networks. She aims to collaborate with community members and leaders to identify resources that can be brought together for ongoing work—striving not only to serve individuals but also to build healthier communities overall by uplifting other voices and supporting local businesses.
