As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
At Miles, Sears & Eanni, Ms. Russell proudly contributes to a culture where attorneys often begin their careers directly out of law school and continue with the firm long-term. This includes an attorney with 52 years of service and three administrative staff with over 35 years each. She emphasizes maintaining strong professional relationships with both staff and clients within this enduring, collaborative environment.
In addition to her primary role, Ms. Russell served as an adjunct professor of legal writing and research at Fresno City College from 2023 to 2024, where she contributed to the academic development of aspiring legal professionals. Her commitment to the legal community is further demonstrated by her prior involvement as a coach and fundraising coordinator with the Fresno State Mock Trial Team.
Ms. Russell's interest in the legal field began in high school after participating in Mock Trial. It was then expanded when she interned at the Shasta County District Attorney's Office while in high school. Her interest grew after working as a student assistant in the criminal division of the United States Attorney's Office in Fresno from 2009 to 2010. This early experience provided her with practical insight into the legal field and trial practice, helping to shape her approach to handling litigation cases now.
In 2013, Ms. Russell gained valuable judicial insight as an extern for the Pro Se Department at the United States District Court for the Northern District of California in San Francisco. Ms. Russell's passion for plaintiff's work began while working as a law clerk at Waters Kraus & Paul in El Segundo from 2014 to 2015. She also served as a research assistant for the graduate and international programs department at the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law, between 2013 and 2014.
Ms. Russell is actively involved in numerous professional organizations. She serves as president of the Central Valley Trial Lawyers Association and vice president of the Fresno County Bar Association. In addition to her current leadership roles, Ms. Russell is a past president of the Fresno County Young Lawyers Association and was previously on the Civil Advocacy Institute planning committee.
Education played a fundamental role in Ms. Russell's success. She earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law in 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a Bachelor of Science in criminology, cum laude, from California State University, Fresno, awarded in 2012. Ms. Russell additionally was a member of the Smittcamp Family Honors College and the Criminology Honors Program.
Ms. Russell's interest in law was sparked during high school through three years of mock trial participation. Initially considering a career in medicine or law, her internship at the District Attorney's Office in Shasta County before her senior year solidified her decision to pursue criminal law. This led her to double major in criminology and political science, with aspirations to become a U.S. attorney. However, exposure to civil law through collegiate mock trial activities shifted her focus toward representing plaintiffs against companies that failed to address known dangers — a passion that continues to drive her work today.
Recognized for her commitment to the field, Ms. Russell has been named a Northern California Rising Star for seven consecutive years, from 2019 to 2025, and was honored with the Top 40 Under 40 Award by Business Street Fresno in 2022. In 2021, she was a finalist for Street Fighter of the Year by the Consumer Attorneys of California, and she has also received the Top 40 Under 40 distinction from the National Trial Lawyers. She also volunteers with The Founders Club, dedicated to currently fundraising for the new Community Regional Medical Center's Smittcamp Neuroscience Center, and serves on the board of directors for Resiliency Center. Notably, Ms. Russell has contributed to public discourse as co-host of "A Place in the Courtroom," a podcast launched in 2023.
Born in Redding, Ms. Russell enjoys spending time with her family as well as engaging in needlepointing, reading, drawing, painting and crafting during her personal time. Looking ahead, she is focused on expanding her practice by handling more trials and establishing herself among Fresno's leading plaintiff attorneys, while continuing to grow Miles, Sears & Eanni through modernization efforts that preserve its valued culture.
As a first-generation attorney whose parents did not complete college, Ms. Russell credits much of her journey to her parents who encouraged her to pursue higher education, as well as supportive teachers, mentors and mock-trial coaches who guided her path. She remains committed to helping others succeed in the profession and serves as a role model for young women facing challenges in legal practice, demonstrating resilience by standing firm against adversity from opposing counsel while fostering an inclusive environment for future generations.
