Since 2008, he has served as a risk manager for Larimer County in Colorado, where he is responsible for managing the county's property and casualty insurance programs, self insured worker's compensation program, reviewing contracts for liability issues, managing law enforcement liability claims, negotiating settlements and leading training events.

Under Mr. Green's stewardship, Larimer County's workers' compensation program achieved results 30% better than the industry average over a decade resulting in spending only 70% of what comparable public entities expend. Though his tenure to date counts several milestones, he is particularly proud of his role in mentoring five staff members who have all advanced to leadership positions in both public and private organizations.

Mr. Green's outstanding achievements within Larimer County saw him named National Public Risk Manager of the Year by the Public Risk Management Association in 2025. This honor was especially meaningful to him because it resulted from a nomination submitted by his current and former staff members without his knowledge, reflecting the high regard in which he is held by those he has led and mentored.

Prior to beginning his tenure with Larimer County, Mr. Green excelled as an account executive at Front Range Insurance Group, LLC from 2005 to 2008. In this capacity, he serviced client accounts and provided tailored risk management solutions to a diverse portfolio of clients in the commercial insurance sales sector.

From 2002 to 2004, Mr. Green was an account manager at FM Global, where he specialized in underwriting and risk assessment for large commercial property clients. Working in collaboration with engineering teams, he identified potential hazards and implemented strategies that minimized exposure to loss for the company.

In 2002, Mr. Green served as the manager of risk management at the food and beverage leader Dole Food Company, where he was responsible for all lines of insurance throughout the organization. During his time there, he oversaw global risk management operations, focusing on insurance procurement and claims administration for the company's international operations.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Green held the position of risk manager at Kinko's, now known as FedEx Office, where he developed programs for safety and loss prevention while managing complex liability claims and contract reviews. It was here that he began his formal journey as a risk manager under the mentorship of Anne Bramman, who encouraged him to make a significant impact within the organization and was pivotal in shaping his professional trajectory.

From 1994 to 1998, Mr. Green worked as an assistant risk manager at Litton Industries Inc., where he supported enterprise-wide risk management initiatives and contributed to the development of policies that enhanced resilience throughout the organization.

Mr. Green began his professional journey in 1988, gaining valuable early experience as a senior risk analyst at Rohr Industries Inc.. In this foundational role for six years, he conducted detailed analyses of risk exposures and assisted in implementing effective mitigation strategies.

Long recognized for his expertise in liability insurance and workers' compensation, Mr. Green continues to share his knowledge while staying abreast of best practices in the ever-evolving risk management sector. He is an active member of multiple industry-related organizations including the Colorado Public Risk and Insurance Management Association, the Colorado Self Insurance Association and the Public Risk Management Association.

Before starting on his risk management path at Rohr Industries, Mr. Green pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and management from San Diego State University in 1988 as well as an Associate of Arts from Grossmont College in 1984. His academic tenure provided a strong foundation for his analytical approach to risk management and informed his ability to develop innovative solutions throughout his career.

Dedicated to the ideals of continuous learning, Mr. Green was certified in incident management by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in 2015 and has held further certifications as a property and casualty producer and in risk management since the 1990s.

Reflecting on his storied journey thus far, Mr. Green attributes much of his success to the trust placed in him by leaders within the companies he has served throughout his career. Additionally, he emphasizes that integrity, attention to detail, dedication and a strong work ethic have been fundamental in his achievements.

Beyond his professional commitments, Mr. Green has contributed significantly through civic engagement as an appointee by Colorado Governor Jared Polis on the Special Funds Board for Workers Compensation Self-Insurers from 2019 to 2023 and previously by Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper from 2015 to 2019.

Happily married and a devoted family man, Mr. Green enjoys traveling internationally with his wife, fishing, attending car shows and driving his Mustang GT as a balance to his work and community service endeavors.

Determined to further his impact in the coming years, Mr. Green intends to apply for the National Board of Directors for the Public Risk Management Association while continuing to mentor emerging professionals within the field.
