As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Tucker's distinguished career in writing and editing spans more than 25 years, marked by a series of influential roles and entrepreneurial achievements. In 2025, she founded Understory Writers' Conference in Park City, Utah. The conference is a testament to her commitment to fostering creativity and community among writers. It has drawn participants from across the United States, Canada and Mexico while also cultivating a vibrant literary microcommunity in Park City. Numerous writing groups have emerged from the conference, and attendees have maintained ongoing connections with one another and with Ms. Tucker herself. She considers this thriving network of writers a major personal milestone.

Since 2011, Ms. Tucker has served as a ghostwriter, writing coach and developmental editor at Annie Tucker Publishing. In this capacity, she has edited more than 900 books. Her editorial expertise is widely recognized, and she views each manuscript as an opportunity to address unique challenges. Ghostwriting became a natural extension of her editorial work, allowing her to collaborate closely with clients and enhance manuscripts through the development of dialogue and narrative structure. Ms. Tucker's approach emphasizes continual professional growth by seeking new creative challenges.

From 2009 to 2011, Ms. Tucker was an editor for Meredith Corporation's DivineCaroline.com, where she contributed to content strategy and editorial oversight for a prominent online platform. Prior to that, from 2007 to 2010, she held the roles of copywriter and editor at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and copy editor at San Francisco Magazine, refining feature articles and ensuring editorial consistency for a leading regional publication. Her earlier experience includes serving as managing editor at Juxtapoz art magazine from 1999 to 2006.

Ms. Tucker's expertise in writing is further demonstrated by her active participation in industry organizations. She has been a presenter at the San Miguel de Allende Writers' Conference since 2019 and has served as a panelist for the Association of Writers & Writing Programs, as well as the San Francisco Writers' Conference. Additionally, she is affiliated with the Editorial Freelancers Association, the Independent Book Editors' List, and the Association of Ghostwriters.

Ms. Tucker's educational background includes a bachelor of arts in English and American literature from Harvard University. She also completed the professional sequence in editing at the University of California, Berkeley, further enhancing her technical proficiency and industry knowledge.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Ms. Tucker was civically engaged as a member of the board of directors for Kimball Art Center from 2020 to 2025 and previously served as a public museum guide at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art from 2018 to 2020. In her personal life, she enjoys traveling, looking at art, surfing, skiing, hiking, rock climbing and baking.

Looking ahead, Ms. Tucker intends to continue ghostwriting while refining her contracts and professional processes with each new project. She aspires to continue collaborating with high-profile clients and contributing to influential books that provide meaningful value to readers. Having become more selective about projects over time, she envisions sustaining a distinguished ghostwriting career focused on compelling narratives while continuing to organize her writers' conference. As both employer and employee in her sole proprietorship, she aims to expand into a boutique agency that supports other ghostwriters and publishing professionals by connecting them with clients, retaining exclusive rights arrangements and fostering a collaborative community of writers whom she can mentor professionally.
