BETHLEHEM, PA, March 06, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Chris Hunt has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Hunt has built a distinguished career in higher education and has served as vice president and dean for inclusive excellence at Moravian University since 2021. In this role, he provides strategic leadership for the institution and oversees a division focused on advancing student success and strengthening a campus culture of inclusion. His portfolio includes academic advising, tutoring, the writing center, academic coaching, international student support, and study abroad programs. He also leads faculty and staff development initiatives that support effective teaching and inclusive campus practices.

Working closely with the president and fellow vice presidents, Dr. Hunt helps align divisional efforts with the university's broader mission. His leadership centers on coordinating institutional priorities across departments, strengthening systems that support student success, and communicating strategic goals throughout the campus community.

Dr. Hunt also remains closely connected to the student experience. He regularly advises and mentors students as they navigate academic, personal, and social challenges and leads retention efforts that connect students with the academic and personal support resources available across campus. He occasionally hosts home-cooked meals for students, creating opportunities for informal conversation and relationship building outside the classroom.

Since 2020, Dr. Hunt has also served as an organizational culture strategist and consultant with Demographic Perspectives, LLC, where he provides guidance on inclusive strategic leadership to organizations seeking to enhance their workplace environments.

Prior to his current roles, Dr. Hunt served as associate provost for community, equity, and diversity at the University of New England from 2020 to 2021. In this position, he advanced institutional equity and inclusion efforts while supporting students from all backgrounds.

From 2017 to 2020, Dr. Hunt served as dean for equity and inclusion and as assistant vice president and dean of students at Lafayette College. During his tenure, he navigated complex student conduct cases involving Title IX and sexual misconduct prevention, providing critical support for students and their families during challenging times. His broad portfolio also included intercultural development, gender and sexuality programs, international student support, student counseling services, religious and spiritual life, student conduct, housing and residence life, Greek life, recreation services, student activities, and student government.

During Dr. Hunt's first stretch of time at Moravian College (now Moravian University) from 2009 to 2017, he was director of housing and later associate dean of students, where he oversaw the counseling center, religious and spiritual life, student activities, student conduct, and intercultural advancement and global inclusion at Moravian College (now Moravian University).

His foundational experience in higher education administration began as assistant director of residence life and off-campus housing coordinator at Lafayette College from 2003 to 2007, at which point he became the assistant to the director and area coordinator at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania from 2007 to 2008.

Throughout his career spanning more than two decades, Dr. Hunt has demonstrated exceptional skills in training and development, workshop facilitation, public speaking, student support, conflict resolution, event management, team building and problem-solving. He is known for his collaborative approach that honors the diverse backgrounds of students, colleagues and workshop participants.

Among his notable scholarly contributions is his doctoral dissertation, When Millennials Meet Baby Boomers: A Multiple Case Study on the Experiences of Black Male College Students, completed in 2018. The study examined the experiences of Black male students across generations by collecting narratives from alumni who attended college in the 1960s and 1970s and comparing those accounts with the experiences of students enrolled at the same institutions four to five decades later. Through this intergenerational analysis, the research identified patterns of marginalization, isolation, and institutional navigation that persisted across time. At the same time, the findings suggested that prior exposure to predominantly white educational environments, along with stronger preparatory networks, often reduced the degree of cultural dislocation experienced by contemporary students. The study contributes to ongoing discussions about campus climate, student persistence, and the role of institutional practices in shaping the experiences of Black male college students.

Inspired by these insights, Dr. Hunt established the Reed Raymond College Readiness Program—formerly known as the Black and Latino Male College Readiness Program—which brings together high school students entering grades ten through twelve for a transformative five-day residential experience with mentorship from male leaders across various fields. Now entering its fifth year, this initiative has made a significant impact by supporting successful transitions to college for participating students.

Dr. Hunt's professional reputation for collegiality and dedication has led to his return to senior leadership positions at both Lafayette College and Moravian University, a testament to his influence in higher education leadership.

His contributions were recognized in 2016 with citations from the Pennsylvania State Senate and the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for community leadership, alongside other college administrators. He has also received the community engagement award from the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the African American Business Leaders Council for his work on high school-to-college transition programs.

He has presented at national conferences, including delivering workshops for the Council of Independent Colleges Institute for Chief Academic Officers, the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education, and the Association of Black Cultural Centers. He continues to share his research on high school-to-college pipeline programs at national forums.

Dr. Hunt's educational background includes an EdD in administration and leadership studies from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Science in higher education administration from West Chester University, and a Bachelor of Arts in theater with a concentration in acting and directing from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, awarded in 2002.

His journey into higher education was shaped by early influences, including his mother's career as an elementary school teacher and an advisor as a first-year student in college. These experiences initially inspired him toward guidance counseling, but he found his calling in higher education through active student leadership during his undergraduate years.

Dr. Hunt attributes his success to principles such as faith, integrity, accessibility, and inclusivity, values that have guided him throughout his career as he seeks out individuals who may be overlooked or marginalized within institutional settings.

Beyond his professional responsibilities, Dr. Hunt is civically engaged through service with organizations such as Greater Shiloh Church ministry; participation on the inclusion board for LINC Inclusion Council; membership on the board of directors for Community Services for Children; service on the board of governors for Valley Youth House; as well as previous tenure on the board of trustees for Bethlehem Area Public Library. Dr. Hunt is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., reflecting his commitment to uplifting both professional circles and broader communities.

He has been honored with multiple community engagement awards recognizing his impact on local youth development initiatives.

Born in Middletown, Dr. Hunt enjoys working out at the gym and actively engaging in church life outside his professional commitments. He is dedicated to making college accessible for all students at Moravian University—an institution rooted in John Amos Comenius' vision that education should be available regardless of background—and remains focused on sustaining vital resources that support student success amid evolving challenges within higher education.

Looking ahead, Dr. Hunt envisions expanding his leadership role in student life while continuing efforts to ensure that access programs remain central to fulfilling Moravian University's institutional mission. His participation in presidential vocation admission programs offered by the Council of Independent Colleges reflects ongoing aspirations toward executive leadership in academia.
