Dr. Sprawling has established a distinguished career in education, currently serving as the eighth-grade pre-algebra teacher at KIPP Memphis Collegiate Middle School since 2019. In this capacity, she is responsible for ensuring that 90 eighth-grade students receive comprehensive instruction aligned with the TN eighth-grade math standards. As the grade-level team lead, Dr. Sprawling manages a team of three teachers, providing guidance in academic matters, classroom management and decision-making processes related to student welfare.

Dr. Sprawling's leadership and commitment have been recognized through her attainment of Level Five teacher status for four consecutive years, reflecting her consistent excellence in teaching and student outcomes. Her dedication was further acknowledged when she received the Teacher of the Year award in 2022 and 2023. Also, she was named Employee of the Month in December 2025.

Prior to her current role, Dr. Sprawling taught at Oakhaven High School from 2015 to 2018, where she contributed to the academic development of high school students in mathematics. From 2015 to 2016, she served as a math school teacher at Martin Luther King Transitional School, instructing courses such as algebra, geometry, bridge math and ACT preparation. The institution focused on supporting young men re-acclimating to society following juvenile detention, and Dr. Sprawling played a pivotal role in their educational journey until the school's closure.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Sprawling worked as a family care provider for the United States Navy for three and a half years, demonstrating her versatility and commitment to service beyond the classroom.

Dr. Sprawling's academic background is both extensive and diverse. She earned a Master of Arts from Relay Graduate School of Education in New York City in 2023, further enhancing her pedagogical expertise. In 2020, she completed a doctorate degree in Christian educational leadership from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, Georgia, overcoming significant personal challenges to achieve this milestone after previously losing several degrees.

In addition to these degrees, Dr. Sprawling holds a master's degree in educational leadership from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon, awarded in 2010. Her earliest studies culminated in a bachelor's degree in computer science from Le Moyne Owen College in Memphis, TN, in 1999.

Beyond her academic credentials, Dr. Sprawling became an ordained minister in 2019. Her faith has played a central role in her life and career, and she credits her spiritual convictions and formative experiences for shaping her resilience and drive for improvement.
