Dr. Nathan has established a distinguished career in academia, marked by more than three decades of service as a Full Professor of Management at The Peter J. Tobin College of Business at St. John's University in Queens, New York. Since 1993, he has contributed to the institution's academic excellence through teaching, research, and leadership. Dr. Nathan's tenure at St. John's University is characterized by a commitment to international management, global supply chains, countries and cultures, global awareness, and scholarly engagement.

Before teaching in New York, Dr. Nathan was a tenured professor of management at the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania from 1983 to 1993. During these 10 years, he furthered his expertise in management education and contributed to the university's academic community.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Nathan held professorial appointments at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Iowa, where he developed foundational skills in teaching and research that would inform his later accomplishments. Additionally, Dr. Nathan had the opportunity to expand his global perspective as a Fulbright Senior Scholar to Thailand, Poland, and Kazakhstan; he subsequently earned Fulbright Specialist Awards to Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Hungary, and Romania; visiting professorships to Brazil, Lithuania, Sweden, Finland, Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia; presented research papers at international conferences in the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, India, Costa Rica, and Morocco, engaging with diverse academic communities and broadening his understanding of international cultures and business practices.

Dr. Nathan's academic background is both extensive and international in scope. He holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Madras in India and a master's degree in industrial systems engineering from the University of Florida in Gainesville. Additionally, Dr. Nathan earned a Doctor of Philosophy, PhD, from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. These academic achievements have provided him with a strong foundation for his work as an educator, research scholar, and author.

An education journey shaped by significant influences, particularly his parents, Dr. Nathan credits much of his success to his father, who was educated in British India, excelled as an English scholar, architect, and engineer. Additionally, he credits his mother's support and guidance to become a whole person. As a U.S. citizen, Dr. Nathan expresses deep gratitude for the United States of America and aligns himself with its founding principles.

Dr. Nathan has been a longstanding member of the Association for Supply Chain Management since 1983, reflecting his commitment to advancing best practices in Management, International Business, globally engaged modernization, and Global Supply Chain disciplines. He was also elected to the Fulbright Association's board, a sign of peer recognition for his contributions to global education and cultural exchange. Civically engaged, Dr. Nathan enjoys fostering connections across generations and cultures. He is passionate about working with youth worldwide, particularly Generation Z.

Throughout his professional journey, Dr. Nathan has been recognized for his scholarly contributions and leadership within the academic community. As an author, he has published books on Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and India. These works have contributed valuable insights into the histories and cultures of these regions. Additionally, Dr. Nathan has served as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Global Awareness since 2004.

Among Dr. Nathan's most notable accomplishments are several prestigious Fulbright grants and fellowships, including those awarded by the Prince of Songkhla University, Thailand, in 1991 and Jagiellonian University, Poland in 1998. He has also received several Honorary Doctorates from institutions in Kazakhstan and Mongolia. He is grateful and with a deep sense of gratitude, to the University of Scranton, Pennsylvania, for establishing a Visiting Scholar Lecture Series in his name, and to Keystone College, La Plume, Pennsylvania, for establishing an International Guest House in his name, which engages international scholars in American culture and enriches the American community as well.

Dr. Nathan remains enthusiastic about advancements in Artificial Intelligence and technology, including Robotics. His curiosity drives him to continually learn from students and colleagues alike while striving to be helpful to younger generations globally. Dr. Nathan also values opportunities for classroom engagement and interactions with leaders from various nations, experiences he finds enriching both personally and professionally. His goal is to remain on a global scale through scholarship, mentorship, and cross-cultural dialogue.
