SANTAQUIN, UT, March 19, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Andrea C. Peabody has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Peabody has established herself as a leading expert in special education, dedicating more than two decades to advancing the field and supporting some of the most vulnerable youth. Since 2000, she has served as a special education consultant, operating primarily on a freelance basis within the North County school district and, more recently, settling into the Nebo Unified School District in Utah. Her expertise is widely recognized, particularly for her pioneering work with foster children facing significant behavioral and developmental challenges. Among her most proficient achievements is her transformative impact on children with reactive attachment disorder and teenagers presenting with mental illness. Notably, Ms. Peabody guided a nonspeaking autistic child through remarkable progress, culminating in college attendance and successful employment—an accomplishment she regards as especially meaningful.
A cornerstone of Ms. Peabody's career is her foundational role in establishing the wraparound system in San Diego County, California. Initiated during her tenure as a foster parent from 1986 to 2007, this program brought comprehensive resources to children throughout the county and remains operational across California today. The wraparound system stands as a testament to her commitment to holistic care and resource coordination for at-risk youth.
From 2017 to 2018, Ms. Peabody contributed as a behavior interventionist with Easter Seals Southern California, where she applied evidence-based strategies to support children with developmental disabilities and their families. Her earlier experience includes serving as a parenting expert with Parents United US from 1997 to 2014 and again from 1990 to 1993, where she provided guidance and advocacy for parents navigating complex family dynamics.
Between 1990 and 1992, Ms. Peabody held the position of site supervisor at Pride, overseeing program implementation and staff development to ensure quality service delivery for children in need. Her extensive experience as a foster parent over a span of 25 years further underscores her dedication to child welfare and advocacy.
Ms. Peabody's academic background laid a strong foundation for her career achievements. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in human development from San Diego State University in 1990, equipping her with critical insights into child growth and behavior that have informed her work ever since. Earlier, she completed nursing education at Grossmont College in 1971, earning credentials as a licensed vocational nurse—a qualification that enhanced her ability to address both the physical and emotional needs of children under her care.
Ms. Peabody has also maintained current certifications relevant to her field, including advanced first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation from the National CPR Foundation for the period of 2022 to 2024. Her professional affiliations include membership in COPPA, reflecting her ongoing engagement with industry standards and best practices in child protection and privacy.
Ms. Peabody has demonstrated an enduring commitment to civic engagement. She volunteered with United Way and Welcome Baby Home, an initiative dedicated to providing new mothers and fathers with resources and support groups. From 2013 to 2019, she served as neighborhood watch commander at Heritage Mobile Home Park, fostering community safety and cohesion. Additionally, she acted as a family and child advocate at the University of San Diego School of Law from 1997 to 2003.
Her contributions have been recognized through several awards, including honors for her service as a foster parent and for her instrumental work developing the wraparound program.
Throughout her career, Ms. Peabody has credited much of her success to the collaborative efforts of colleagues such as Sharon Callum Carreon, along with numerous social workers and counselors who played vital roles in supporting the children she served. Their collective dedication was instrumental in coordinating programs and providing essential tools that enabled these young individuals to thrive.
Outside of her professional commitments, Ms. Peabody enjoys painting, sewing and participating in church choir activities during her personal time. Looking ahead, she plans to continue her work as a special education consultant to support vulnerable youth facing behavioral and developmental challenges, a calling she considers her greatest achievement.
