RIDGEFIELD, WA, March 20, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Darlene Lambert Netzer is a distinguished biographee of Marquis Who's Who. She was recently spotlighted in New York City's Times Square on a 22-story screen that is passed by an estimated 1.5 million people daily. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are chosen from among a pool of the most prominent professionals and are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Netzer's career in education spans an impressive 27 years, marked by her dedication to fostering learning and literacy. Her most recent role was as a secondary Montessori educator and English department chair at St. Francis Academy's Franciscan Montessori Earth School, where she served until 1998. During her tenure, Ms. Netzer designed and taught a writing workshop that integrated language arts with other subjects, ensuring students were well-equipped to tackle research papers across disciplines. This innovative approach underscored her belief in the importance of writing skills for secondary students.

Prior to her work at the Franciscan Montessori Earth School, Ms. Netzer contributed her expertise as an English as a second language educator at Lower Columbia College. Her commitment to language education was further demonstrated through her role as a specialty class educator and coordinator at the Washington Teen Institute during the 1970s and 1980s. Here, she played a pivotal role in educating students about drug prevention during a time when drug usage was notably prevalent. Ms. Netzer's career also includes experience as an educator in Lake Oswego, Oregon, where she honed her teaching skills before transitioning into the semiconductor industry with Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc., now known as ON Semiconductor. Her diverse professional background reflects her adaptability and commitment to lifelong learning.

Ms. Netzer's academic achievements laid a strong foundation for her career. She earned a Master of Education in Montessori education from Loyola University Maryland in 1998 and a Bachelor of Science in history from Oregon State University in 1967. She also holds an Oregon standard teaching certification in language and literacy education from Lewis & Clark, obtained in 1989, and a California life teaching certification in English from Holy Names University, awarded in 1971.

Ms. Netzer attributes much of her success to the influence of her father, an Englishman who was self-educated as a botanist and worked for the Huntington Library. His passion for reading and vast library inspired her early love for education and literature. This familial influence extended to her professional life, where she has found inspiration in figures like Ruth Bader Ginsburg and maintained a positive relationship with the League of Women Voters since 1972. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Netzer has been actively involved in civic activities, including volunteering to teach literacy to students with fetal alcohol syndrome at Clark College. This work enriched her community and reinforced her commitment to education and inclusivity.

Throughout her career, Ms. Netzer has been recognized for her ability to adapt to challenges while focusing on her objectives. Her experiences as an educator have profoundly influenced both her personal life and parenting style, leading to a more nuanced understanding of human behavior and learning processes.
