Mr. Fragomen enjoyed a distinguished career in immigration law as chairman of Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy LLP in New York City from 1970 to 2022 when he was named chairman emeritus. Under his leadership, the firm achieved significant milestones, including its recognition as an AM Law 100 Law Firm and a Global 100 Firm. Mr. Fragomen is particularly proud of the firm's decision to expand globally, opening its first international office in 1983.

Prior to his longstanding association with Fragomen, Mr. Fragomen served as assistant counsel for the Committee on the Judiciary of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1968 to 1970. His expertise in immigration law was further honed during his time as an adjunct professor of law at the New York University School of Law from 1988 to 2010. Additionally, he has been actively involved with the Center for Migration Studies, serving as treasurer since 2022 and previously as vice chairman from 1995 to 2022.

Mr. Fragomen's military service includes time in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1970 to 1976 and involvement with the National Guard. His commitment to immigration law is evident through his roles as chairman of various organizations, such as the City Bar Justice Center and the Practicing Law Institute's Annual Immigration Institute. He has also contributed significantly to global migration discussions as chairman of the business advisory group for the Global Forum on Migration and Development.

Mr. Fragomen's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University in 1965, where he developed an interest in international law. This interest deepened during his studies at Case Western Reserve University, where he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1968. His legal acumen is further supported by bar admissions to several appellate courts, including the New York State Bar Association and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits.

Mr. Fragomen's professional affiliations are extensive, including membership in the American Bar Foundation and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He has also been recognized with numerous awards, such as Best Lawyers in America and Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the Investor Migration Council and New York Law Journal. His contributions to literature include co-authoring "Immigration Fundamentals: A Guide to Law and Practice" and "Immigration Law and Business." He has also served on the editorial board of International Migration Review.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Fragomen is actively engaged in civic activities, having served as the former chairman of Barnegat Bay Charities and a board member of Jesuit Refugee Service USA. He also holds leadership roles with cultural institutions, including the Metropolitan Opera and the Palm Beach Civic Association. In his personal life, Mr. Fragomen enjoys tennis, squash, skiing and sailing.
