Mr. Giron is a multifaceted poet, author, publisher and educator who established Gival Press, a literary press, in 1998. He began his career in academia as an English instructor at his alma mater, Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, while acquiring his graduate degree. In 1975, he served as an English professor at El Paso Community College until 1981; he later taught English at St. Mary's University, The University of Texas at San Antonio, Austin Community College and The George Washington University.
