Before her current role, Dr. Wahlig was a couple and family therapist, CEO, clinical director, and co-owner of a thriving group therapy practice, Resonant Relationships from 2016 to 2023. During this tenure, she provided therapeutic support to couples and families navigating complex interpersonal dynamics, offered clinical supervision, and supported a team of 20 clinicians and interns. Her work focused on fostering understanding across diverse intersections of identity and experience, with particular attention to queer and trans clients. Dr. Wahlig also conducted training sessions and courses designed to cultivate critical consciousness and equity within relationships.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Wahlig served as a family therapist at Phoenix Houses of New England. In this position, she contributed to the well-being of families affected by addiction and mental health challenges, further honing her skills in supporting individuals through periods of crisis and transformation.

Dr. Wahlig is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, eWomenNetwork and Polka Dot Powerhouse. These affiliations reflect her dedication to ongoing professional development and her engagement with broader networks committed to advancing the field of relationship coaching and relational leadership.

Her academic background has been instrumental in shaping her approach to coaching and leadership. Dr. Wahlig earned a Doctor of Philosophy in marriage and family therapy, specializing in couple relationships, from Antioch University New England in 2017. She previously completed a master's degree in marriage and family therapy at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2011 after earning a bachelor's degree in psychology with a concentration in marriage and family therapy from the same institution in 2006. This comprehensive educational foundation has enabled Dr. Wahlig to integrate evidence-based practices with innovative methodologies tailored to her clients' unique needs.

Throughout her career, Dr. Wahlig has received recognition for her contributions to the field. She is a two-time recipient of the Minority Fellowship Grant, was honored with the CREA Global Award by Brainz Magazine and was named among the 20 Women Over 40 to Watch in 2026 by Vision Made Magazine.

Born in Milwaukee, Dr. Wahlig is married to Calvin and together they have a blended family of four children. Their household reflects a rich tapestry of identities as a mixed-neurotype couple—her partner being neurodiverse while she is neurotypical—and includes two neurodiverse children. Dr. Wahlig identifies as a queer, gender-queer White woman on the asexual spectrum; her partner is a straight, half-Nigerian, first-generation, half-white transgender man. They embrace a polyamorous lifestyle that informs both their personal lives and Dr. Wahlig's professional mission.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Wahlig enjoys reading, meditating, spending time in nature, letterboxing, acrylic painting, solving puzzles, playing video games, sharing meals with loved ones, watching shows and engaging in deep conversations that foster connection and understanding.

Looking ahead, Dr. Wahlig intends to expand her influence by speaking on additional stages to share her insights on relationships and leadership. She aims to inspire shifts in how individuals perceive themselves within their personal and professional connections while promoting wellness and balance across all areas of life. Additionally, she plans to extend her work into university settings by engaging college students with foundational concepts for healthy relationships early on. Dr. Wahlig also anticipates publishing books that encapsulate her philosophy on love as a conscious choice rooted in empathy and collective well-being. Furthermore, she seeks to organize more retreats and develop new initiatives within corporate environments that integrate effective leadership principles with relational intelligence.
