RALEIGH, NC, March 30, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Grace Massarelli has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Grace Massarelli is an associate attorney at Gailor Hunt Davis Taylor & Gibbs, PLLC, where she focuses her practice on complex family law matters involving the division of substantial assets, business interests, spousal support, custody, and heart balm torts recognized in North Carolina. She represents clients in both negotiated and litigated matters, bringing clarity and precision to cases that often involve both significant financial considerations and deeply personal issues.
Among the most professionally significant matters in her practice thus far, Ms. Massarelli served as second chair in a high-stakes custody case that spanned over the course of five years wherein her team retained a nationally recognized expert in parental alienation and successfully advocated on behalf of a father who had not seen one of his children in more than a year and a half. Following expert testimony and extensive evidentiary presentation at trial, the court determined the case involved extreme parental alienation and awarded full custody to the father. The outcome marked a meaningful resolution in a protracted and emotionally complex matter and reflects Ms. Massarelli's commitment to achieving results for her clients in the most challenging cases.
Since joining the firm, Ms. Massarelli has contributed to high-stakes litigation at both the trial and appellate levels, including working on a case before the North Carolina Court of Appeals addressing the procedural safeguards required in orders compelling the production of electronically stored information to ensure protection of attorney-client privileged communications.
In addition to her practice, Ms. Massarelli plays an active leadership role within her firm, where she leads Gailor Hunt's internship program and mentors students from high school through law school. She is particularly passionate about developing the next generation of attorneys and has been proud to see several of her mentees grow into colleagues and peers within the profession. She attributes much of her own development and success to the strong mentorship she received early in her career and continues to rely on those relationships today, firmly believing that success in the legal profession, is built within a community of support. As she simply puts it, it takes a village. She is proud to be a part of her mentee's village.
Ms. Massarelli is also deeply involved in legal education and outreach. She serves as a coach for Campbell Law School's Client Counseling Team, most recently guiding her team to a semifinal finish at a national competition. She remains actively involved in coaching YMCA Youth and Government mock trial teams, working with high school students across North Carolina. Most recently, she was invited to speak at the University of North Carolina Wilmington's Cameron School of Business as part of its Business Week program, where she shared her path to becoming an attorney and provided insight into the realities of practicing law.
Ms. Massarelli earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2018 and her Juris Doctor from Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in 2021. She is admitted to practice law in North Carolina and maintains active involvement in several professional organizations, including the Wake County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, the Tenth Judicial District Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association and its Family Law Division, the American Bar Association, the Campbell Law Alumni Association, and the Craven-Everett Inn of Court.
Her work has been recognized through features such as "The Best Revenge Is Living Well" in Attorney at Law Magazine in 2025 and an Alumni Spotlight in the Campbell Law Alumni Association Magazine in 2024. She has also been selected to Business North Carolina's Legal Elite in Family Law for 2026 and named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers for three consecutive years from 2024 through 2026. In addition to her recognitions in print, she has been featured as a guest on the A Year and A Day: Divorce Without Destruction podcast, available across major streaming platforms.
Beyond her professional work, Ms. Massarelli is actively engaged in her community. She has been involved with the Downtown Raleigh Rotary Club and currently serves on the YMCA of the Triangle Young Professionals Board. She previously served on the Capital City Clauses board.
Ms. Massarelli was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, at a young age. Raised as one of five children by a single mother who navigated a highly contentious divorce and custody matter, she developed an early understanding of the challenges families face during such transitions. That experience continues to inform her practice and her commitment to helping clients navigate difficult circumstances with clarity and confidence.
She credits much of her success to the example set by her mother, Julia, whose resilience shaped Ms. Massarelli and her siblings, all of whom have gone on to succeed in their respective fields. Surrounded by strong mentors throughout her career, she values the role of guidance and community in the legal profession and remains committed to providing that same support to the next generation.
