JACKSONVILLE, FL, April 01, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Moises R. Santana has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Santana currently serves as Vice President of Operations at Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs, Inc., a role he has held since 2024. In this capacity, he oversees operational strategies and performance across the organization, drawing on his extensive expertise in training and operations. He returned to Hungry Howie's in 2023 as Director of Operations until his current appointment as Vice President of Operations. In both roles, he has demonstrated a commitment to operational excellence and team development.
Prior to these appointments, Mr. Santana was Manager of Franchise Performance for Subway Market Operations from 2021 to 2022. In this position, he was responsible for supporting franchisees in optimizing their business models and ensuring compliance with corporate standards.
From 2019 to 2020, he contributed as a Field Service Consultant at Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs, Inc., where he provided guidance to franchise owners and helped implement best practices across multiple locations.
He also brought his operations and training expertise to various international assignments in the Middle East like the opening of MOOYAH Burgers Fries and Shakes first restaurants in Qatar, Oman and Azerbaijan, while also performing multiple leadership roles in Saudi Arabia.
From 2017 to 2018, Mr. Santana served as Operations Manager at Olayan Food Services Company Ltd., a Burger King master franchise in Saudi Arabia. Previously, from 2016 to 2017, he was Head of Operations for MOOYAH KSA Burgers Fries and Shakes. In that role, he led the brand's expansion and oversaw day-to-day operations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, ensuring high standards of quality, customer satisfaction and team development.
Between 2012 and 2016, Mr. Santana was a Franchise Owner and Operator of Baldino's Giant Jersey Subs. During this venture, he built the first brand location in Jacksonville, FL, with the goal of serving his community while leveraging his vast experience. He made the mentoring of his team members who later advanced in their careers a priority and currently continues to share these business lessons with Hungry Howie's franchise owners.
From 2001 to 2013, Mr. Santana held multiple leadership roles at Sonic Drive-in Corporation. His roles included Regional Vice President and Market Leader, as well as Senior Director of Training for new market services. He also served as a Project Manager and Director for Beyond Our Basics, a systemwide training initiative and as a Field Service Consultant.
Mr. Santana began his professional journey with McDonald's Corporation as a Manager-in-Training and achieved multiple mid-management positions from 1987 to 2000. Notably, between 1993 and 2000, he served as a Business Consultant and Senior Training Consultant for McDonald's International, Latin America & The Caribbean. During this period, he was directly responsible for opening the first 9 McDonald's restaurants in the Dominican Republic—an achievement he is proud of for the many jobs it created and the support it provided to Dominican families. His endeavors culminated in serving burgers at an event celebrating Independence Day at the United States Embassy alongside the company's leadership team, the United States ambassador, and other country dignitaries.
Mr. Santana earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a minor in economics and business management from the State University of New York at Cortland in 1986. He graduated from Park West High School in New York City in 1981 and received the distinguished honor of a New York Yankees scholarship for outstanding scholastic and athletic achievement. He also earned the American Management Association's Certification of Achievement in Leadership Excellence.
Mr. Santana's inspiration for entering his field can be traced back to his high school counselor, Richard Buehler, whom he credits as a formative mentor. Motivated by Buehler's guidance and encouragement, he frequently returned to Park West High School after graduation to speak with juniors and seniors—particularly those from Hispanic backgrounds—about the importance of higher education through institutions like the City University of New York or the State University of New York systems. Although he was initially offered a caseworker position with New York City Child Protective Services promoting the safety of vulnerable children, he ultimately accepted an opportunity with McDonald's Corporation that set him on a path toward operational leadership in various countries around the world.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Santana has remained active in civic organizations. Since 2013, he has served on the board of directors for Trinity Christian Academy, and since 2002, he has coordinated children's ministry activities at Trinity Baptist Church of Jacksonville. Since 2014, he has also shared his insights as a guest speaker at Millennium Academy. Outside of work, he enjoys ministry activities, spending time with his wife, children and granddaughter, playing golf, fishing and traveling.
Throughout his career, Mr. Santana has been recognized with honors such as the Top 40 Alumni Award for successful students in New York's State University Educational Opportunity Program (1986). Looking ahead, he plans to promote loyal, high-performing team members by creating roles that leverage their unique skill sets to better support others within the company. He also intends to pursue international mission consulting, helping businesses and missionaries worldwide establish successful ventures, reflecting his commitment to service-driven leadership.
His 40-year career can be summarized as an exciting journey from Heights to Heights: "From Washington Heights, New York, where he grew up and started with McDonald's, to Madison Heights, Michigan, home of Hungry Howie's." His ultimate life calling since arriving in the United States at the age of 11 has been to serve God, his family and his community.
