OMAHA, NE, April 03, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Kenneth Lloyd West, Ph.D., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Wise celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in social science from Midland Lutheran College (now known as Midland University) in 1961, Dr. Wise went on to earn a Master of Arts in international law and organization and a Doctor of Philosophy in international studies from The American University School of International Service, Washington, D.C., in 1965 and 1967, respectively. In an interim he served as an area reporter and agricultural editor for the Hastings (Nebraska) Daily Tribune 1961 to 1963. While at The American University he was a teaching fellow 1964 to 1967.

As an associate professor of political science at Creighton University from 1967 until 2008 he taught diplomacy and international politics courses and served several terms as Department Chairman. For decades he coached the university's Model United Nations (MUN) teams, guiding them in U.S. regional and Harvard University National and International MUNs around the world. Dr. Wise also directed the international relations graduate program at Creighton University from 1981 to 2004, teaching primarily officers of the U.S. Strategic Command.

Dr. Wise directed policy research at the Dubai Public Policy Research Center (b'huth) in the United Arab Emirates from 2004 to 2013, advising, among others, the Executive Committee of Dubai emirate and the UAE Prime Minister and Cabinet. Continually interested in professional contributions, he serves as a non-resident senior fellow at b'huth and as an emeritus faculty member at Creighton University.

Dr. Wise was inspired to pursue political science and international affairs because of his father's work with refugees in the wake of World War II. He has been a Principal of The Wise Choice Consulting in Omaha, NE, since 1988, and President of InterChange International, Inc., from 1976 to 1988, and co-authors www.PositivePolitics.net. He has consulted for the North Atlantic Treaty Association Information Office, Brussels, as a council member of the InterUniversity Center in Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia, and, as an Academic Associate of the Atlantic Council of the United States.

Helping NATO design its expansion at the end of the Cold War, Dr. Wise participated in the Paul Loebe Institute, Berlin, and Clingendael Institute, The Hague, senior academics seminars 1990 and 1991. Demonstrating knowledgeability in his field at that time, Dr. Wise wrote "Crisis Decision-making," "German Unification and All-European Security," and "Toward a Community of the North." He has also written several articles for publications in his field and been a peer reviewer for journals Armed Forces and Society, American Political Science Association's PS, International Studies Association, and book publishers, and spoken at think tanks around the world.

Interested in civic organizations and public speaking, Dr. Wise directed the Omaha Committee on Foreign Relations for the New York Council on Foreign Relations from 1968 to 1996 and has been involved with the Homeowner's Association of his neighborhood, Omaha's Sister Cities Committee, and the Omaha Mayor's International Affairs Committee.

Often serving in leadership roles, Dr. Wise belongs to the American Society of International Law, the International Studies Association, Global Education Associates, the American Political Science Association, the Atlantic Council, the Nebraska and Omaha chapters of the United Nations Association, and several honor societies. An accomplished professional, he has been the recipient of awards from Creighton University and the Nebraska Press Association, among other organizations. Considering his accomplishments, Dr. Wise was honored in the 24th and 25th editions of Who's Who in the Midwest.
