NEW ORLEANS, LA, April 06, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tenghuan Ge, MBA, MS, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
In 2025, Ms. Ge founded Zermatt Biotech. Through this venture, she has demonstrated a commitment to advancing health care solutions by leveraging her scientific background and entrepreneurial acumen. Zermatt Biotech is committed to advancing CNS-optimized inhibitors for neuroinflammatory diseases. Its proprietary platform combines AI-driven medicinal chemistry with patient-derived organoid validation to overcome the blood-brain barrier (BBB), addressing critical unmet needs in pediatric and adult neurological disorders.
Ms. Ge currently also serves as senior project manager at Tulane University in New Orleans, where she leads cross-institutional collaboration outreach and vendor procurement negotiations, and identified and onboarded a key institutional partner, which reduced procurement costs, and project execution timelines by 50%. She also managed 10+ concurrent cross-institutional research grants, tracking pre- and post-award lifecycle spanning proposal development, budget justification, and final deliverables. Additionally, she streamlined laboratory relocation and build-out, led vivarium management protocols, data integrity, regulatory readiness, and achieved operational readiness within 30 days. She has managed the funding of hundreds of millions and several early venture investments over the past five years.
Overlapping with this role she was a project manager at the University of Southern California for several years. Over her time here, she progressed through several roles, including lab manager, technician and research assistant. This progression highlights her adaptability and capacity for growth within academic research environments. She played a key role in maintaining laboratory standards, supporting experimental design and contributing to the overall success of research initiatives.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Ge established Faded Night, an event planning company that she led for two years. She is very proud of building the brand from inception, generating revenue streams and expanding the business through strategic planning and client engagement. The success of Faded Night stands as one of her most notable achievements, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit and ability to create value in diverse industries.
Ms. Ge's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in bioengineering from the University of California, Riverside in 2012. She continued her studies by earning a Master of Science in chemical engineering from the University of California, Irvine, in 2015. Furthering her education, she completed a Master of Business Administration at the University of Southern California. Beyond her formal education, she attributes much of her success to an open-minded approach and a willingness to challenge traditional scientific boundaries—qualities she actively encourages in others.
Born in Shanghai, Ms. Ge immigrated to Santa Barbara during junior high school, where she was the only Chinese speaker at her high school. Despite cultural challenges, she found support from teachers and community members who eased her transition into American life, especially Ms. Diane Siegal, her English as a Second Language teacher, who welcomed her into her home during the summer months, and Dr. Zhen Zhao in her later career days.
Ms. Ge's decision to pursue a career in biomedical science was deeply influenced by personal experience after immigrating to America from China during junior high school. Witnessing her elderly landlord's struggle with Alzheimer's disease inspired her to seek answers through science and ultimately motivated her to establish Zermatt Biotech.
Beyond professional work, Ms. Ge is dedicated to mentoring high school and college students through programs like the Brain Bee competition. Students who have volunteered in her laboratory have gone on to attend prestigious institutions, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the California Institute of Technology—a testament to her impact as a mentor. Among her own accolades is a third-place finish in a negotiation competition, reflecting both her analytical skills and ability to excel in competitive environments.
As a single mother to Renee—who pursues interests in art, basketball and acting—Ms. Ge is committed to serving as a strong female role model for future generations. She enjoys traveling, playing badminton, rock climbing and fishing in her free time.
In the upcoming years, Ms. Ge aims to bridge scientific projects with business initiatives by bringing greater resources and visibility to innovative work while educating future generations about science beyond social media narratives. She also remains steadfast in demonstrating that perseverance and embracing diverse career paths can lead to meaningful success for herself and those she mentors.
