Before being promoted to this current role, he was the Principal Data Scientist in predictive risk analytics for five years, where he engaged with clients across multiple sectors to deliver advanced credit risk solutions.
Before joining Dun & Bradstreet, Dr. Chandra was a senior manager in Data Science at Discover Financial Services from 2019 to 2020. There, he focused on data management and served as a data scientist within the marketing analytics center.
Dr. Chandra's tenure at JPMorgan Chase & Co., spanning from 2010 to 2019, was marked by significant achievements. He began as an Assistant Vice President in the credit risk modeling group for mortgage products. He was responsible for developing Economic Capital models. In 2013, he was promoted to Vice President. In these roles, he was a functional manager and responsible for developing credit risk models for Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) and Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL) to meet regulatory requirements. His responsibilities expanded from mortgage banking to small business banking and wholesale business banking products. He was further responsible for loan origination models, portfolio management models and collections and recovery models.
Earlier in his professional journey, Dr. Chandra was a Graduate Research Assistant at the Economic & Policy Analysis Research Center at the University of Missouri-Columbia from 2005 to 2010. There, he contributed to various research initiatives that laid the groundwork for his later expertise in applied econometrics and data science.
Dr. Chandra's academic background is distinguished by rigorous training and continuous learning. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics (with a concentration in Applied Econometrics) from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2010, where he developed a strong foundation in statistical and mathematical methodologies that have underpinned his professional success. He also completed an executive program titled "Machine Learning: From Data to Decisions" at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2020, which enabled him to stay abreast of emerging trends in artificial intelligence and machine learning applications.
Furthering his expertise, Dr. Chandra earned a certification as a SAS-certified base programmer for SAS 9 from SAS Institute in 2008. Beyond formal training, he attributes much of his advancement to his rapid adaptability and willingness to embrace new technologies as they emerge within the fields of Statistics and computer programming languages. The solid foundation provided by his doctoral studies has enabled him to quickly learn and apply new techniques, ranging from basic statistics to advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence.

He serves as an advisory board member for the Academy of Information Technology at Beachside High School in St. Johns County, Jacksonville, Florida, where he mentors high school students on capstone projects related to artificial intelligence and machine learning modeling. In his personal life, Dr. Chandra enjoys spending time with his family, including his spouse and daughter, and enjoys playing pickleball, ping-pong and biking.
