This initiative has produced promising preliminary data in reducing hospital recidivism among patients with frequent admissions, underscoring the value of interdisciplinary cooperation in improving patient outcomes.

Since 2018, Dr. Iacobucci has also been a postdoctoral researcher at the University at Buffalo's Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. His research focuses on translational psychiatry and the biological underpinnings of mental illness, contributing to advancements in patient care through scientific inquiry.

Among his former positions, Dr. Iacobucci served as a laboratory manager at the Lighthouse Free Medical Clinic in Buffalo from 2019 to 2020, where he oversaw laboratory operations and ensured quality control for diagnostic testing in a community-based setting. Between 2018 and 2020, Dr. Iacobucci simultaneously worked as a data analyst at the New York State Office of Mental Health's Buffalo Psychiatric Center, analyzing clinical data to inform mental health policy and improve service delivery.

He also gained experience as a medical technician and personal care aide at Eden Heights Assisted Living in 2011, where he provided direct support to residents. Dr. Iacobucci's initial exposure to scientific research began as a research assistant at Roswell Park Cancer Institute from 2008 to 2009.

Dr. Iacobucci holds both a Bachelor of Science in biological science and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University at Buffalo, graduating in 2013. He also earned a Doctor of Philosophy in biochemistry in 2018 and a Doctor of Medicine in 2023 from the University at Buffalo. An active member of several professional organizations, Dr. Iacobucci holds fellowship status with the American College of Psychiatrists. He is also a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Medical Association, the American Academy for the Advancement of Science and the Medical Society of the State of New York.

During his tenure in medicine, Dr. Iacobucci has contributed to the broader scientific community as a volunteer judge for the Western New York STEM Science Fair. As a respected researcher, he has contributed articles to professional journals, furthering knowledge within his field as well as serving as a peer reviewer for multiple academic journals.

Dr. Iacobucci's achievements have been recognized with numerous awards, including a Poster of Distinction at the Digestive Disease Week Conference in 2013, a Beverly Petterson Bishop and Charles W. Bishop Travel Award in 2016, and, among numerous other recognitions, an Outstanding Resident Award in Psychiatry from the National Institute of Mental Health in 2025. He attributes much of his success to influential mentors throughout his educational journey, including several supportive high school teachers who recognized his potential early on and facilitated his first research position at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

Looking ahead, Dr. Iacobucci aims to secure funding for an independent research laboratory within the department of psychiatry focused on translational psychiatry with an emphasis on identifying transdiagnostic traits that can predict patient responses to specific treatments with a goal of better tailoring treatment to the individual. He also plans to develop a clinical focus on psychosomatic medicine by establishing specialized practices for patients with both medical and mental health needs, addressing gaps created by specialization within medicine, and remains committed to improving communication across disciplines for better patient care within his community.
