GRAYSLAKE, IL, April 10, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Matthew Schmoker has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Matthew Schmoker has built a distinguished career spanning more than three decades in education and enrollment management, driven by a deep commitment to empowering students, educators, and institutions to thrive. As founder and managing partner of Legacy School Solutions (www.legacyadmissions.com), he leads a team dedicated to delivering enrollment solutions, admissions training, student retention strategies, and faculty development. Under his guidance, the organization has partnered with more than 750 schools across North America and internationally, helping them strengthen admissions operations, boost enrollment, and create exceptional student experiences that enhance retention and graduation success. His expertise in these areas, combined with executive leadership and keynote speaking, has established him as a respected authority in the field.
In his role at Legacy School Solutions, Schmoker works closely with school owners, executives, and directors to uncover challenges and provide practical resources and skills for lasting success. He also serves as co-owner and operator of the Salon Professional Academy in Fort Myers, Florida—a hands-on venture inspired by his desire to engage with every aspect of school ownership and operations. This experience allows him to connect more authentically with fellow leaders while helping create an environment where students gain valuable skills, invest in their growth, and build meaningful careers.
Schmoker previously served as president of Salon Professional Education Company (SPEC), where he led a near 40-location franchise school system and contributed to its growth in the beauty and wellness industry. He also held the role of fractional corporate director of admissions at Lynnes Welding Training, a multi-campus group, offering strategic guidance to improve admissions processes. Earlier, he advanced through key leadership positions at SPEC as vice president of enrollment management and director of admissions training and development, where he developed best practices for student recruitment, enhanced engagement, and drove operational excellence.
His executive experience further includes serving as executive vice president of admissions at Regency Beauty Institute, leading national initiatives to optimize performance across 80+ campuses, and as national director of admissions for American InterContinental University's online division, managing large-scale recruitment efforts. After teaching professional development earlier in his career, Schmoker transitioned to Corinthian Colleges Inc., progressing through roles from admissions representative and high school recruiter to director of admissions, multiple regional vice president positions, director of admissions training and development, and interim campus president.
Throughout his journey, Schmoker has earned recognition for his ability to empower, equip, and elevate individuals and organizations through leadership roles, motivational insights, training and development, and a wide range of consulting service that infuse actionable strategies with high ROI. The heartfelt messages he continues to receive from school owners and leaders, students, and education professionals remain among his most treasured accomplishments.
He serves on the executive board of the Association for the Advancement of the College Admissions Profession (AACAP), underscoring his dedication to elevating standards across the field.
Schmoker holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science with a minor in communications from Central Washington University, where he graduated cum laude, and an Associate of Applied Science in business management from Columbia Basin College, where he graduated cum laude and president's council. These foundations have supported his leadership in education management.
His path was profoundly shaped by overcoming life-threatening health challenges during high school, which required extended hospitalization and medical technology for survival. Encouraged by his favorite teacher and mentor to share his survival story, he began speaking publicly on the national circuit. This experience blossomed into workshops on student recruitment best practices during college and drew media attention, including a short documentary titled "36 Hour Miracle." These early moments ignited his lifelong passion for supporting students and educators.
His contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including the "Outstanding Leadership Award" from International Education 2.0 Organization, selection as one of Industry Era Magazine's "10 Best Entrepreneurs for Education Consulting," Corporate Vision's Small Business Award for Education Consulting, recognition as one of the "Top 100 Visionaries in Education" by the Global Forum for Education and Learning, ten-time inclusion among Beliefnet.org's "10 Most Inspirational Speakers of the Year," along with excellence recognition from the Washington Education Association and a civic award from Richland.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Schmoker is actively involved in civic and community service. He coaches baseball with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, volunteers with faith-based initiatives, contributes at the Union Gospel Mission, and remains engaged in his church community.
As an author and thought leader, he is collaborating on two forthcoming books: "The Student Relationship Approach," which introduces his proprietary model to help schools build relational experiences that foster academic success, and "Be Amazing Today," a collection of inspiring true stories drawn from students and educators he has encountered through decades of keynote presentations.
A prolific speaker, Schmoker has delivered nearly 3,000 keynotes and workshops, reaching approximately 3.6 million people worldwide and leaving a lasting impact in education circles.
In his personal time, he enjoys traveling, appreciating the fine arts, attending theatre, dining at new restaurants, wine tasting, and spending time with family and friends.
Looking forward, Schmoker remains committed to expanding Legacy School Solutions, as well as his empowerEd platform (www.mattschmoker.com), to inspire education professionals and leaders through keynotes and workshops, while developing innovative technologies to help schools better understand students' learning styles. He also continues on several other professional initiatives, all in service of his mission to deliver exceptional educational experiences that prepare students for thriving and meaningful futures.
