ROCKVILLE, MD, April 16, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Darren D. Love, PsyD, MSCP, MCST, MBS, CPM, clinical health specialist with the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, was selected by Marquis Who's Who for a prominent feature in the February/March 2026 national issue of Fortune magazine.

Exemplifying leadership amid adversity and a steadfast commitment to helping individuals with mental health concerns, Dr. Love is a clinical health psychologist at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Since 2020, he has been treating veterans and active-duty service members. Concurrent with this appointment, Dr. Love established his own virtual private practice in 2021, Love Psychological & Consulting Services PLLC, where he specializes in providing cognitive behavioral therapy and hypnosis to treat individuals living with chronic pain and other chronic medical conditions. Equipped with a mastery of clinical psychological practices and a profound understanding of the medical sciences, Dr. Love has leveraged his skills to give his patients insights into treatment options best tailored to their needs and improve their quality of life.

Dr. Love commenced his career with Banner Health in 2001 as a certified nursing assistant. Subsequently, he became a noninvasive cardiology technician in 2005. Pivoting his focus to psychology while pursuing his graduate degree at Midwestern University, he achieved a master's degree in biomedical sciences in 2007 and a doctorate in clinical psychology in 2011. During this time, he completed an internship with Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-All Saints and went on to gain valuable professional experience as a licensed clinical psychologist at Psychology Specialists Ltd., the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth and Thriveworks Administrative Services LLC. He also holds a double bachelor's degree in psychology and life sciences from Arizona State University.

Continuing his education while working full-time, Dr. Love obtained a Master of Science in psychopharmacology from New Mexico State University in 2019 and, most recently, completed a master's program in medical cannabis sciences and therapeutics at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Notably, Dr. Love intends to utilize his credentials to assist more patients in gaining control over their chronic pain and educate medical professionals about the health benefits of medical cannabis. He also wishes to become board-certified in health psychology in the near future. Dr. Love's work has been augmented by numerous other certifications, including credentials as a clinical hypnosis provider through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and in pain management through the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.

Dr. Love has endured much adversity throughout his career; however, these hardships have not only shaped him into the professional he is today but have also inspired him to serve as a trusted mentor in his field. In this regard, he was the only African American student in his doctoral program and was often required to confront skepticism and expectations from others. Now, Dr. Love advocates for fair and equitable treatment of minorities in the field of medicine and gives back through his mentorship of psychology interns and practicum students. Likewise, he often provides educational resources to fellow medical professionals to help them understand and respect multicultural issues and experiences. He attributes much of his success to his deep dedication to helping others, which has always been a driving force behind his work.
