During the preceding two years, he held the position of global director of energy management solutions at Cummins Inc. in Shoreview, Minnesota, where he managed a project team of 125 people across eight countries, focusing on microgrids and distributed energy solutions utilizing generators and fuel cells.

Between 2017 and 2021, Mr. Balshe served as the global business director for the systems and controls business at Cummins Inc., after one year as a mission-critical segment director at the same firm. His tenure at Cummins stretched from 2007 to 2021, with his earlier roles including energy ventures business development leader, energy and environment business development manager and application engineering team leader. Throughout this tenure, he demonstrated expertise in developing onsite power solutions for commercial and industrial customers—helping Cummins enter the microgrid sector.

Throughout his career, Mr. Balshe has been recognized for his expertise in developing microgrid solutions, business development, sales, marketing and growth strategies. He has also spoken at conferences and led workshops on microgrid topics while managing teams working on projects globally, along with co-founding a venture capital fund (Zeytoon Ventures) aimed at investing in Palestinian technology startups.

Mr. Balshe's educational background has been foundational to his career achievements. He earned a Master of Business Administration in international business from Indiana University Bloomington in 2013 after completing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems from the University of Minnesota in 2002. He further enhanced his credentials with a graduate certificate in strategic management from Harvard University in 2020, a Six Sigma certificate and membership in the Association of Energy Engineers.
