MORTON GROVE, IL, April 22, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Athanasios Lappas has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Renowned for his expertise in receivables and payments solution consulting, Mr. Lappas has built an impactful career in the financial services sector. Since 2025, he has served as an assistant vice president and an associate treasury management officer at PNC Bank in Chicago, Illinois, where he consults with companies on money movement functions and assists clients with payments, liquidity and receivables services.
Mr. Lappas regularly meets with clients to support their projects and initiatives, collaborates closely with treasury management officers and works alongside his peers to develop strategic approaches for long-term client success. His commitment to understanding client needs is further reflected in his approach to helping businesses that may require additional guidance or tailored solutions.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Lappas continued to excel as an associate treasury management officer from 2023 to 2025. During this period, he further refined his expertise in client consultation and treasury management, building a reputation for approaching challenges from the client's perspective and delivering personalized, effective solutions.
Mr. Lappas began his full-time journey at PNC as a corporate and institutional banking (C&IB) analyst from 2021 to 2022, developing a strong foundation in banking operations and financial analysis. His professional journey with the organization began earlier through a treasury management operations internship, during which he gained practical experience that would inform his continued professional growth.
In additional to his professional responsibilities, Mr. Lappas is a member of the Association for Financial Professionals, reflecting his commitment to staying engaged with industry developments and best practices. His achievements have been recognized by peers and employers alike; notably, he received PNC's Market All-Star award in 2024.
Before entering the financial services industry, Mr. Lappas worked as a dock worker at Halls Rentals in the Greater Chicago Area from 2015 to 2020. This experience instilled in him a strong work ethic and provided him with insight into the operational challenges faced by businesses — perspectives that continue to shape his approach as a consultant.
Academically, Mr. Lappas earned a bachelor's degree from Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University in 2021. Reflecting on his journey to date, he attributes much of his success to the support and mentorship of his colleagues at PNC Bank, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and guidance in his career development.
Committed to continuous learning, Mr. Lappas earned the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation from the Association for Financial Professionals in 2025, an achievement he considers among his most significant. Pursuing this certificate enabled him to gain critical insights into treasury fundamentals and payment functionality from the client's viewpoint — knowledge that is increasingly valuable in modern-day banking.
In addition to the CTP credential, Mr. Lappas was certified as a receivables and payments solution consultant by the Institute of Finance and Management (IOFM) in 2023 and has earned recognition as a women's business advocate through PNC, reflecting his dedication to supporting diversity and equity within the industry.
Mr. Lappas' decision to pursue a career in banking was influenced by observing family members who worked in the Chicago restaurant industry. Witnessing the challenges businesses face inspired his interest in consulting, where he could help organizations navigate financial complexities and achieve sustainable success.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Lappas is passionate about outdoor activities and an avid fisherman who participates in both local outings and international fishing trips; over the past two years alone, he has embarked on three international excursions. This includes journeys to Costa Rica at the end of 2024, Cabo San Lucas in Mexico where he caught a 10-foot fish, and Portugal where he landed a 250-pound fish while journeying solo. His love for travel extends beyond fishing as he seeks opportunities to learn about different cultures around the world.
Looking ahead, Mr. Lappas remains focused on expanding his professional network within the Chicago business community. He aims to build deep relationships across the region while taking on increased leadership responsibilities, all with the goal of supporting his clients' success in the financial sector.
