Ms. Schweppe's early career included roles such as senior analyst at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, from 1992 to 1993 and computer animator at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from 1987 to 1991. During this period, she also served as artistic director for Chicago Access Corp. Channel 27 from 1988 to 1989. Ms. Schweppe's work as an animator and production coordinator at The Ohio State University from 1984 to 1987, alongside her role at Cranston/Csuri Productions from 1985 to 1986, further exemplifies her dedication to advancing animation technology.
A pioneer within SIGGRAPH since 1982, Ms. Schweppe has been instrumental in various capacities, including serving as the SIGGRAPH '99 Art Gallery Chair. Additionally, she has been a member of several industry-related organizations, such as the Association of International Du Film D'Animation, the Association of Computing Machinery, the National Computer Graphics Association and ASIFA.

Ms. Schweppe's civic engagement includes serving on the NYFA Artists' Advisory Committee from 2004 to 2008 and serving as president of the AAGUA chapter from 2001 to 2011. She was also a board member for the Evanston Day Nursery in Illinois from 1989 to 1991, reflecting her commitment to community service.
Throughout her career, Ms. Schweppe has received accolades such as the SIGGRAPH '88 Educators Grantee award, which recognizes her contributions to computer graphics education.
