Prior to his move to the United States, Dr. Oshoniyi built an extensive career in Nigeria's civil engineering sector. Since 1994, he has operated as a chief executive officer, overseeing various projects and ventures. He is the founder of Sparta Contractors Nigeria Limited, established in 1992, through which he has practiced civil engineering for over three decades. Among his significant accomplishments is his involvement in the construction of Ayegbaju Market in Osogbo, a project valued at approximately $6 to $7 million, demonstrating his commitment to improving commerce and infrastructure in Nigeria.

Dr. Oshoniyi also established Saxona Systems Nigeria Limited and Edward Property Konsult, companies dedicated to the construction and property consulting markets, with a focus on enhancing commercial opportunities in Nigeria. His professional affiliations include membership in the Project Management Institute and BNI, as well as fellowships with both the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Nigerian Institute of Management. He is additionally registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria.

Dr. Oshoniyi's academic journey began at Federal Polytechnic Mubi, where he earned an associate degree in civil engineering in 1986 and recognition as best student, a distinction accompanied by several awards for academic excellence. He continued at Obafemi Awolowo University, graduating in 1990 with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering while again being recognized as best student both within his department and faculty.

Seeking broader expertise, Dr. Oshoniyi completed a Master of Business Administration at the University of Lagos in 1994 before pursuing international studies in the United States. He earned a master's degree in project management from Colorado Technical University in 2010, followed by a Doctor of Management with a concentration in organizational management and leadership from the University of Phoenix in 2014.

Dr. Oshoniyi attributes his success to determination, focus and confidence, qualities reinforced by unwavering support from his wife and faith in God. He credits his father's influence as an architect and director with the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing for inspiring him to pursue civil engineering.
