NEW YORK, NY, April 28, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anthony E. Davis has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Davis has distinguished himself as a partner at FisherBroyles LLP since 2023, and before that at Clyde & Co, where he leverages his expertise in advising legal professionals. FisherBroyles LLP is recognized as one of the earliest and largest distributed law firms, operating entirely remotely and structured as a collegial partnership. Mr. Davis specializes in representing lawyers and law firms, focusing on advisory and consulting services. His practice encompasses a broad spectrum of legal matters, including ethical issues, disciplinary proceedings, admission challenges and partnership concerns. He also addresses emerging topics, such as outside funding and other evolving issues impacting the legal profession. His comprehensive approach is such that any matter related to the practice of law falls within his purview.
Prior to joining FisherBroyles LLP, Mr. Davis served as of counsel at Clyde & Co LLP from 2019 to 2023. During his tenure at this United Kingdom-based firm, he provided strategic guidance on professional responsibility and risk management for legal practitioners. Before this, he was a partner at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, a prominent Chicago-based law firm, where he authored newsletters and contributed to thought leadership on risk management for legal professionals.
In addition to his private practice roles, Mr. Davis has maintained a strong commitment to legal education. He is a Lecturer at Columbia University Law School, where he teaches a spring course focused on professional responsibility issues in business practice. His dedication to teaching extends back to his time as an adjunct professor at New York Law School, where he was instrumental in developing and delivering ethics courses following the Watergate scandal. The American Bar Association's mandate for ethics education after Watergate marked a defining moment in Mr. Davis's career, shaping his focus on professional responsibility and risk management.
Mr. Davis began as a barrister in England and Wales, an experience he recalls fondly. Although his time as a barrister was brief, it laid the foundation for his lifelong commitment to both practicing law and educating future generations of legal professionals. Today, his expertise has been recognized through leadership roles in industry organizations. He is a past president of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers and has served on various committees within the New York City Bar Association, including its ethics committee.
Academically, Mr. Davis' background includes earning a Master of Laws in criminal justice from New York University School of Law in 1971 and a Bachelor of Arts in law from the University of Cambridge in 1970. He is admitted to practice law in New York and Colorado and is qualified as a barrister in England and Wales. Inspired by a family legacy—his father and maternal grandfather were both lawyers—he chose the profession early on, finding fulfillment in its challenges and rewards.
Throughout his career, Mr. Davis has contributed extensively to scholarship and public discourse on legal ethics and risk management. He is the author of numerous books and scholarly articles, including "Risk Management: Survival Tools for Law Firms," published by the American Bar Association in 2008. He also writes a bi-monthly column titled "Professional Responsibility" for the New York Law Journal and has published influential articles, such as "New York View on Advance Waiver," "A Fresh Look at Advance Waivers," "Seven Practical Principles for Associates to Live By" and "Data Loss – And Why It Matters," among many others. His work also includes editing The Lawyers' Lawyer Newsletter during his time at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP.
Mr. Davis' civic engagement includes volunteering with education programs through various bar associations and supporting city bar committees dedicated to advancing ethical standards within the profession. In his personal life, he is the father of three children: his daughter resides in Westchester, New York, with three teenage children, while his younger son lives in Boston with two daughters, and his oldest son lives in San Francisco. Mr. Davis considers it one of his greatest successes that none of his children became lawyers, but are all happy with their chosen paths. He enjoys classical music, listening to the New York Philharmonic, attending theater performances, reading, exercising and walking as hobbies.
Looking ahead, Mr. Davis remains deeply satisfied with his career achievements and intends to continue making positive contributions to the legal profession through both direct service and active participation in professional organizations. He aims to improve the quality of legal services by emphasizing that all legal work needs to be grounded in professional responsibility and ethics.
