PRINCETON, NJ, April 29, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Travis Blanks has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Blanks currently serves as the area vice president of operations at Interstate Waste Services Inc., one of the nation's fastest growing and most innovative solid waste collection, disposal, and recycling firms, located in New Jersey and serving New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Ohio. In this capacity, he manages the market area to ensure the daily execution of customer service, maintains employee and community safety, and oversees environmental standards. Mr. Blanks also works directly with directors across various functions and disciplines, ensuring both short-term and long-term operational strategies are executed effectively. His responsibilities are further reflected in day-to-day strategic planning and forecasting to align with the company's long-term objectives.
Recruited from Waste Management, Mr. Blanks was hired in 2021 as a business solutions analyst working in a remote capacity. Acting as an internal consultant, he traveled nationwide to optimize operational locations requiring assistance. This foundational experience paved the way for his rapid advancement within the sector. In late 2021, Mr. Blanks became a district manager II in Indianapolis, where he managed approximately 80 employees and oversaw about 50 daily routes while handling profit and loss for a more modest budget. Promoted in 2022, he spent the next two years as a senior district manager. In this leadership position, Mr. Blanks managed an operation with fewer than 100 employees, supervised approximately 75 routes per day, and handled profit and loss responsibilities for a budget of about $100 million. His tenure was marked by operational efficiency and financial stewardship.
Earlier in his professional journey, Mr. Blanks excelled as the director of football alum relations at Clemson University from 2019 to 2021. He also served as an IPTAY major gift development officer at Clemson Athletics between 2017 and 2019, where he contributed to fundraising efforts supporting athletic programs. Mr. Blanks began his career in 2016 as a mortgage loan officer and retail banker at Oconee Federal Savings and Loan, gaining valuable experience in finance and customer relations.
Mr. Blanks's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and anthropology from Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina, earned in 2015, where he was also voted by his peers as permanent team captain for the Orange Bowl Clemson Football Championship Team. Subsequently, he earned a Master of Business Administration in management on campus in 2020. These academic achievements have been instrumental in equipping him with analytical skills and leadership acumen essential for his professional success. Mr. Blanks further enhanced his qualifications by completing the leadership development program at the Center for Creative Leadership in 2023.
Active in his professional community, Mr. Blanks is a member of the Solid Waste Association of North America. Civically, he remains affiliated with the board of directors for the Clemson University Alumni Association. He previously served as a board member for Rosa Clark Medical Clinic from 2017 to 2018 and as an assistant football coach at Walhalla High School during that same period. Among other earlier roles, Mr. Blanks was active with Rotary International and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Throughout his career, Mr. Blanks has demonstrated expertise in operations, sales, human resources, maintenance, fleet maintenance and safety, reflecting his commitment to professional excellence. However, he considers his most significant accomplishment to be earning his Master of Business Administration while working professionally at Clemson University and transitioning from collegiate athletics into the corporate sector within the waste industry. This courageous decision required leaving behind a familiar environment and investing considerable effort into personal growth. The risk of entering an unfamiliar industry ultimately set Mr. Blanks's career on a new trajectory and continues to yield rewards.
Mr. Blanks attributes his rapid career growth over the past five years to his willingness to take calculated risks without fear. His faith has also played a central role in strengthening his mindset and guiding his professional journey. Rather than being motivated by titles or financial gain, Mr. Blanks remains driven by a desire to positively impact others' lives through leadership. Looking ahead, he aims to continue making a meaningful impact through leadership by helping others grow professionally and reach their full potential, believing that true success is measured not by personal accolades but by fostering growth in those around him.
