KEY WEST, FL, April 30, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Maghan Barber, Owner and Founder of GAFS Co. (Grant and Funding Solutions Company), has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Barber is widely recognized for her leadership in grant consulting and funding strategy, having begun her work in the field in 2017 before later founding GAFS Co. What began as a one-person operation alongside her role at the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority has since grown into a boutique consultancy with a team of nine professionals serving public sector and nonprofit clients nationwide. Her work spans grant writing, technical proposal development, and disaster recovery funding, with a focus on helping organizations secure and effectively deploy critical funding.
Under her direction, GAFS Co. has achieved an exceptional 87% success rate on federal and state grant applications—significantly exceeding industry norms. This performance reflects her emphasis on strategic positioning, attention to detail, and a client-first approach rooted in transparency and long-term partnership.
In 2024, Ms. Barber transitioned fully into leading GAFS Co., driven by the firm's rapid growth and increasing demand for its services. Today, she oversees business development, client strategy, and high-level grant execution, working closely with municipalities, utilities, and nonprofit organizations to secure funding for infrastructure, resilience, and community development initiatives. She is particularly known for her expertise in complex, multi-source funding strategies, including extensive work supporting Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) programs.
Prior to founding GAFS Co., Ms. Barber served as Special Projects Executive at the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority from 2016 to 2024. In that role, she managed grants, budgets, bond financing, and low-interest government loans, gaining hands-on experience navigating public funding systems. With approval to pursue outside consulting work beginning in 2017, she steadily built her client base before ultimately committing full-time to her firm.
A defining element of Ms. Barber's career is her commitment to expanding access to resources and supporting those in times of need. She founded The Libella Foundation, a nonprofit through which she provides pro bono work to small nonprofits while also directly assisting families and individuals facing crises, financial hardship, and disaster-related challenges. Through this work, she helps connect vulnerable populations with critical funding, preparedness resources, and recovery support. Ms. Barber considers this mission-driven work among the most meaningful aspects of her professional journey, reflecting her dedication to both community resilience and equitable access to opportunity.
Ms. Barber is actively engaged in several professional and community organizations, including the Palm Beach Historical Society, Key West Historical Society, Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce, American Grant Writers Association, and Grant Professionals Association.
She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Florida International University (2013), a foundation she credits with shaping her analytical approach to navigating competitive funding environments.
Beyond her professional work, Ms. Barber is passionate about mentoring emerging grant writers, providing hands-on training and real-world exposure to the field. She also supports nonprofit fundraising initiatives, contributing creative and branded materials to community events.
In her personal time, she enjoys traveling with her son Ryder and their four French Bulldogs—Roscoe, Romeo, Reginald, and Ravioli—often embarking on road trips together. She is also an avid skier and known for hosting creative, themed gatherings inspired by her family traditions.
Ms. Barber has been nominated for the Athena Award and previously recognized in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. She was also selected as an honoree for the South Florida Business & Wealth Prestigious Women Awards, recognizing her as one of the region's most influential and accomplished female leaders driving innovation and economic impact. Looking ahead, she aims to continue growing GAFS Co. as a nationally recognized boutique consultancy distinguished not by size, but by service quality, innovation, and results. She remains committed to helping clients advance impactful projects that strengthen communities across the country.
