Since 2025, she has served as a principal in the Premont Independent School District, where she oversees curriculum instruction, discipline, special populations and programs, as well as the hiring and recruitment of talented teachers. In her current role, Dr. Braswell is particularly proud of leading her team through a critical turnaround effort for the campus. Under her guidance, every student is encouraged to set goals for the school year, with an emphasis on academic growth rather than solely passing standardized tests. Prior to joining Premont Independent School District, Dr. Braswell held several key positions that contributed to her expertise in curriculum instruction, discipline and special programs. From 2024 to 2025, she was the director of finance at Ramirez Consolidated School District, where she managed financial operations, and between 2023 and 2024, she served as an instructional coach.

From 2013 to 2023, Dr. Braswell served as a principal in the Ricardo Independent School District. During this decade-long tenure, she honed her skills in educational leadership and administration, further solidifying her reputation as an expert in guiding schools toward academic excellence and positive culture.

Dr. Braswell's earlier experience includes teaching positions at New Braunfels Independent School District from 2006 to 2013, San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District between 2003 and 2006 and South San Antonio Independent School District from 2002 to 2003. These formative years in the classroom provided her with a deep understanding of student needs and instructional strategies. As adjunct employee for Education Service Center-20, she continued to sharpen her skills in math curriculum by facilitating training for hundreds of teachers during the summer months.

Throughout her career, Dr. Braswell has been recognized for her dedication to education. She is a member of the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association, reflecting her commitment to professional development and collaboration within the field.

Dr. Braswell's academic achievements have played a pivotal role in her professional success. She earned a Doctor of Education in educational leadership and administration from Texas A&M University-Kingsville in 2019. She also holds a Master of Education in educational leadership and administration from Texas State University, completed in 2005, as well as a Bachelor of Education in elementary education and teaching from the same institution in 2002.

Influenced by a strong family legacy, Dr. Braswell was inspired to pursue a career in education. As a third-generation educator, she was shaped by the example of her father, who served as a superintendent, and her mother, a dedicated teacher. The encouragement and guidance of her immediate and extended family — including campus administrators, teachers across grade levels, athletic coaches and special education diagnosticians — played a significant role in developing her values. Dr. Braswell firmly believes that perseverance, hard work and grace are key to achieving even the most challenging goals.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Dr. Braswell is actively involved in civic organizations that support youth development and faith-based education. She serves as a CCD teacher and attends Bible study classes as a volunteer at her local Catholic church. Additionally, she participates in facilitating teen retreats for youth in the community. She values the future of our society; therefore she spends her time investing in the youth. Notably, her contributions have been recognized by peers, including an honor from the Education Service Center in 2024 for her impact as one of the Women in Education.

Born in Falfurrias, Dr. Braswell enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends, going to the ranch, riding horses, boating, fishing, hunting and visiting the beach. Looking ahead, she aims to encourage fellow leaders to balance academic rigor with social development among children.
