BEACON, NY, May 04, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Daniel A. Morea has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Morea has dedicated more than three decades to veterans' advocacy and support, establishing himself as an expert in veterans' claims and benefits. For the past five years, he has served as a veterans counselor for Westchester County, New York, where his responsibilities include reviewing case files to identify necessary updates, responding to inquiries from veterans, conducting interviews and collaborating with nonprofit agencies that provide essential services. He is actively involved in American Legion outreach efforts, connecting volunteers with senior and homebound veterans, including those who served in Korea and World War II, to ensure they remain valued members of the community.

In addition to these responsibilities, Mr. Morea supports the department commander of The American Legion by advising on organizational matters and helping members understand leadership roles. His work with Vietnam Veterans of America includes hospital visits, organizing member visits for hospitalized veterans and providing additional provisions as needed.

Mr. Morea assists veterans with disabilities, whether due to chemical exposure or physical injuries, by guiding them through the process of filing claims in accordance with congressional intent and Department of Veterans Affairs regulations. His expertise allows him to navigate the complexities of VA compensation systems, ensuring that veterans receive the maximum benefits available in a timely manner.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Morea served as the deputy director of veterans services from 2008 to 2020, during which he was recognized for his leadership in Yonkers and received proclamations from both the New York State Senate and Assembly through the Veterans Affairs Division for his contributions to veterans' welfare.

From 1995 to 2008, Mr. Morea served as assistant department service officer for the Department of New York, The American Legion. During that time, he also taught for about 10 years alongside an associate, focusing on veterans' benefits and training new service officers in effective case handling and benefit access processes.

Earlier, between 1990 and 1995, Mr. Morea was the director of the Outreach Center for Veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, following his role as co-founder of the center beginning in 1984. This initiative stands as one of his most significant achievements; through collaborative work with fellow Vietnam veterans, Mr. Morea helped change laws and rules affecting veterans at both the state and national levels. Their efforts shifted perspectives on entitlements and led to meaningful improvements in how benefits are understood and delivered.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Morea worked as an appliance sales associate at Sears, Transform SR Brands LLC in Poughkeepsie from 1977 to 1993. He also held positions at Lloyd's Center in Newburgh and contributed to sales at the William T. Grant Foundation. His professional journey began with military service in the United States Army starting in 1966, including thirteen months deployed in Vietnam, a formative experience that shaped his lifelong commitment to supporting fellow service members.

Mr. Morea's academic background includes a diploma from St. Anthony School in New Jersey in 1962 and a diploma from Northern Valley Regional High School in Old Tappan, New Jersey, in 1966. After returning from Vietnam, he faced challenges reentering higher education due to societal attitudes toward Vietnam veterans, but he persevered to complete an associate degree in liberal arts at Colorado Technical University in 2003. Pursuing this degree later in life allowed him to expand his education while evaluating changes in college environments since his earlier experiences.

Beyond his formal education, Mr. Morea holds accreditation as a service officer practicing under Title 38 of the Code of Federal Regulations through the Department of Veterans Affairs, a credential requiring formal training, regular testing and ongoing recertification every two years by the American Legion and every five years under federal law. This rigorous process ensures that he remains current on legal developments affecting veterans' benefits across different eras of military service.

Mr. Morea has a long and active record of civic involvement. He served as department vice commander for The American Legion's Department of New York and is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Beacon as well as the Beacon Elks Lodge. His dedication has earned numerous honors, including being named Service Officer of the Year by The American Legion's Department of New York in 2010, along with multiple recognitions for veterans advocacy from the New York State Legislature and acknowledgment by the City of Yonkers.

Born in the Bronx, Mr. Morea finds personal fulfillment in improving veterans' lives and remains committed to broadening public understanding about support systems for those who have served. He emphasizes the need for greater societal attention to mental health issues among veterans, particularly suicide prevention, and supports initiatives such as the American Legion's "Be the One" program aimed at encouraging community intervention when veterans become isolated or withdrawn.

Looking ahead, Mr. Morea continues to prioritize strengthening systems that evaluate and support veterans, especially regarding mental health, and advocates for increased awareness about the unique challenges faced by those who have served their country.
