After retiring from IBM Research in 2024, Mr. Corbin leveraged his extensive experience to launch his consulting business. His tenure at IBM spanned over 40 years, during which time he held several pivotal roles within the semiconductor and semiconductor research fields. From 2014 to 2024, he was a senior engineer in research, contributing to advanced equipment development and program management for large-scale semiconductor fabrication projects.

Between 2012 and 2014, Mr. Corbin served as a supplier manager for infrastructure at IBM and was assigned to the global 450-millimeter consortium. In this capacity, he managed supplier relationships and infrastructure development for next-generation semiconductor manufacturing initiatives.

From 1983 until 2024, Mr. Corbin held the position of senior engineer at IBM, where he achieved several landmark accomplishments. He takes particular pride in developing and implementing the first copper electroplating system at IBM's Advanced Semiconductor Technology Center in 1995. As a key member of the core team that created the world's first automated 300-millimeter fabrication facility, he played a central part in advancing global semiconductor manufacturing standards. Following this achievement, he served as the overall program manager for the annex built to support this facility.

Providing Mr. Corbin with a robust technical foundation that has been instrumental throughout his professional journey was his academic background. He earned an Associate of Science in pre-engineering from Delta College in 1980, graduating with cum laude distinction, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with an industrial engineering and data systems focus from Michigan Technological University in 1982. In addition to his formal education, he obtained the IBM agile explorer certification in 2016, enhancing his ability to lead cross-functional teams using agile methodologies within complex technological environments.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Corbin has been actively involved in civic organizations and community service initiatives. He previously served as the treasurer for finance on the campaign team of New York State Assembly member Frank Skartados and dedicated three years as a Cubmaster for the Cub Scouts organization.
