CLIFTON, VA, May 05, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Weiqing Gu, PhD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Gu celebrates many years' experience in her professional network and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Gu has distinguished herself as a pioneering leader at the intersection of mathematics, artificial intelligence (AI) and health care technology. Since 2020, she has served as the chief executive officer and chief scientist at Daison, a health care AI company whose name stands for "data-to-decision." Under her leadership, Daison has become a trailblazer in augmented intelligence for the health care industry, focusing on research and the application of advanced mathematics to machine learning and AI. Dr. Gu's expertise in leveraging complex mathematical concepts, such as algebra and the Grassmann manifold, has enabled her to develop innovative solutions that address real-world clinical challenges.

Among Dr. Gu's most significant achievements at Daison was the development of a single voice recognition system capable of detecting 10 different diseases. This accomplishment was a testament to her commitment to creating explainable, efficient and empowering AI that unifies fragmented systems within health care, allowing physicians to work through a single platform and dedicate more time to patient care.

In addition to her role at Daison, Dr. Gu has served as a professor of mathematics at Harvey Mudd College since 1996. She is recognized for her mentorship and dedication to student success, with colleagues noting her exceptional intellect and students consistently benefiting from her guidance. During her sabbatical, Dr. Gu was notably acknowledged by peers as one of the most brilliant minds at the institution. Apart from her primary goals at Daison and Harvey Mudd College, she has served as an advisor at UnifyID since 2019, where she contributes her expertise in AI and machine learning to advance identity verification technologies.

In 2017, Dr. Gu worked as a machine learning researcher at Intel Corporation, expanding her experience in applying mathematical models to cutting-edge technological advancements. Her earlier career also included a decade-long tenure as a faculty member at Shanghai University from 1980 to 1986, where she received Best Teacher awards. Dr. Gu's professional journey also included service as program director at the National Science Foundation, where she played a pivotal role in advancing research initiatives across disciplines.

Dr. Gu's college education began at an exceptionally young age. Having started college at age 15, she rose to become an assistant professor at 18. Her early experiences in academia laid the foundation for her lifelong pursuit of bridging gaps between research, industry and government. Following her undergraduate work, Dr. Gu earned both a master's degree and a Doctor of Philosophy in mathematics and computer science from the University of Pennsylvania.

Active in her professional community, Dr. Gu is a member of the American Board of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, reflecting her standing among leading experts in the field. She has also delivered invited speeches at major conferences, including Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers events and the International Conference on Neurological Disorders and Stroke. Dr. Gu's contributions extend to authorship, whose publications have advanced understanding within her field.

Throughout her career, Dr. Gu has conducted groundbreaking research on immunochemotherapy for breast cancer treatment, a project initiated in 2004 that simulates how cancer responds to chemotherapy while monitoring immune system strength. This work was inspired by personal motivation following her mother's battle with breast cancer and involves collaboration between faculty members and students. Dr. Gu's research was selected by the USNSF to be presented to the US Congress in 2007.

Dr. Gu's work is characterized by a prevention-focused, patient-centered approach that seeks to benefit society and create new opportunities rather than displace existing roles. Her unique combination of skills as a mathematician, full-stack engineer, clinical director and former program director of NSF and DOD has enabled her to rapidly transform complex challenges into deployable AI solutions. The highlight of her career remains the development of a unified new method of machinery using AI, called Geometric United Learning (GUL), supported by NSF, a breakthrough Dr. Gu regards as her most plausible and significant accomplishment.

Looking ahead, Dr. Gu remains dedicated to advancing voice-based AI capable of identifying conditions such as depression, Parkinson's disease, heart diseases and certain cancers, while supporting communities during crises or transitions in employment status. Dr. Gu's mission centers on creating accessible technology that improves care on a broad scale, leaving a legacy defined by unified systems that enhance prevention-focused health outcomes for society at large.
