As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Ferretti's career in nonprofit and educational leadership has been marked by increasingly influential positions and enduring contributions, enacting meaningful change for students from diverse backgrounds. Most recently, from 2000 to 2005, she served as a consultant for national college access programs at The Education Resources Institute, where she offered strategic advice on expanding educational opportunities for underserved groups, leveraging her substantial background in higher education administration. Now retired from formal work, she has continued to lend her expertise to nonprofit organizations, community boards and her local church.

To this end, in her retirement, Ms. Ferretti has remained actively involved with Scholarship America's advisory board, serves on the community board for Wellington Crossing A, and participates on the WATCH CDC's advisory board. She has served as a longstanding board member at Mount Ida College (now the Charles River campus of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst) since 2011 and previously served as chair of its board of directors. She also chairs the board of directors at Maristhill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waltham, Massachusetts, overseeing governance and providing strategic direction. Likewise, as chair of the Road Scholar Board, she established the first-ever endowed caregiver grant fund in honor of her mother. This pioneering initiative provides financial support for caregivers seeking travel opportunities.

Ms. Ferretti's board work is not only a professional pursuit but also a personal passion. She enjoys supporting nonprofits in need and makes herself available whenever possible to advance their missions. Beyond other community involvement, she is deeply involved in her church as a deacon, fostering intergenerational connections and encouraging conversations about vitality and future possibilities.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Ferretti served as the executive director of The College Board's New England regional office from 1983 to 2000. During her tenure, she was instrumental in advancing the organization's mission to connect students with the tools for opportunity and college success. As such, her leadership fostered collaboration among secondary schools, colleges and universities throughout the region, strengthening pathways to student achievement and access.

Before her work with The College Board, Ms. Ferretti held the newly-created role of assistant to the president for affirmative action and government relations at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. In this role, she developed and implemented policies that promoted diversity, equity, and inclusion while managing relationships with government agencies and advocacy groups. Previously, she excelled as the director of admissions and financial aid at Regis College, overseeing recruitment strategies and financial support systems to broaden access for prospective students. Her professional journey began at Boston University as a part-time assistant in the nursing program, where she provided administrative support while pursuing her academic goals, culminating in her role as the assistant director of financial aid.

Possessing a steadfast desire to help others from a young age, Ms. Ferretti graduated cum laude from Boston University with a bachelor's degree in psychology. While working full-time, she attended night classes to finish her undergraduate studies. Thereafter, she recognized the value of advanced training and pursued a master's degree in community counseling at Salem State University.

Ms. Ferretti's contributions have been recognized by her induction into Who's Who of American Women. Through decades of service spanning education, nonprofit leadership and civic engagement, she has demonstrated unwavering dedication to empowering individuals and strengthening communities.
