Earlier, from 2018 to 2020, Ms. Talati cofounded HereAfter AI, an artificial intelligence startup dedicated to preserving personal legacies through technology-driven storytelling solutions. HereAfter AI was featured in a Wall Street Journal documentary on legacy, which earned the publication its first Emmy in 132 years. The company was also recognized as one of Business Insider's top 10 startups in the United States. Her career also includes significant contributions to journalism and digital media. She was a reporter at Barron's under Dow Jones, where she wrote extensively about affluent families and the role of storytelling in legacy preservation.
From 2013 to 2014, Ms. Talati served as a researcher and intern at The Wall Street Journal under Dow Jones. In addition to her reporting responsibilities, she contributed to multimedia journalism initiatives that expanded the publication's digital reach. This included creating one of the first multimedia narrative storytelling pieces, integrating videos, graphics and articles—a project recognized for its innovation. Her foundational roles in journalism and digital storytelling include serving with the Wall Street Journal, McClatchy Media, Chambers Communications and KTTC TV. She began her career as an executive producer and television host for "Eyes of the World: Looking Beyond" on Napa Valley TV in 2010.
Ms. Talati's academic background includes a Master of Arts in business journalism from Columbia University in New York City. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in mass communications and economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and has furthered her expertise through active membership in organizations, such as the American Asian Journalist Association (AAJA), the South Asian Journalist Association (SAJA) and the New York Financial Writers' Association.
