SEDONA, AZ, May 12, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kevin Adams has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Adams has distinguished himself as a dedicated community builder and advocate for youth engagement through his leadership as the co-founder and treasurer of Wheel Fun, a nonprofit organization based in Arizona. Since 2018, he has traveled extensively across the state to raise awareness about the organization's mission, which centers on fostering connections between adults and children through after-school mountain biking programs. Under Mr. Adams's stewardship, Wheel Fun has grown from a modest initiative with seven bikes at a small public school in Cornville, Arizona, to a robust network providing more than 700 bicycles across more than 50 public schools in nearly a dozen of Arizona's 15 counties. The organization also constructs bike parks on school properties, offering students opportunities to develop their skills and passion for cycling.

A notable example of Wheel Fun's impact is evident in Payson, Arizona, where the program enables children to progress from elementary to middle school with access to biking as part of the physical education curriculum and extracurricular activities. Recognizing the absence of a local bike shop, Mr. Adams spearheaded the creation of a career technical education program that empowers students to maintain the town's fleet of 60 bikes, effectively serving as the community's bicycle resource center.

Mr. Adams's expertise in removing obstacles and finding solutions has been instrumental in overcoming challenges, such as gaining access to under-resourced public primary schools in rural and tribal areas. His approach involves mentoring staff on proposal writing, securing grants, and building partnerships with organizations like the United States Forest Service and the Sedona Red Rock Fund. Through these collaborations, Mr. Adams's nonprofit has addressed staffing shortages by hiring temporary workers who volunteer with the Forest Service to maintain local trails, ensuring continued access for residents who value outdoor recreation.

Before his current role, Mr. Adams contributed his skills to several organizations following his retirement from military service. He served for the International Mountain Bicycling Association for nearly a year and a half, where he was involved in advocacy efforts for mountain biking infrastructure and community engagement. Before this, Mr. Adams held an executive position at CDW in Chicago for over 10 years, managing all bids, proposals and contracts within the sales department of this Fortune 500 company. Additionally, his tenure in the information technology industry spanned over five years in progressively responsible roles before retiring for the first time.

Mr. Adams's professional journey began with two decades of service in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he achieved the rank of major. His military career was marked by resilience and adaptability, advancing through enlisted ranks before transitioning into officer status as a second lieutenant following a demotion from staff sergeant. Stationed at the Pentagon during part of his service, Mr. Adams demonstrated perseverance in challenging environments.

Mr. Adams's academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University. The knowledge gained through this program provided him with essential skills in organizational management and strategic planning that have underpinned his success across multiple sectors.

Beyond his work-related ventures, Mr. Adams' civic involvement has been extensive. He is the co-founder and treasurer of both Wheel Fun and Verde Valley Cyclists Coalition, having previously served on its board of directors. He is also a board advisor to the Arizona Community Foundation of Sedona and was appointed chair of the Arizona Outdoor Recreation Coordinating Commission by gubernatorial appointment. Mr. Adams's contributions also include over five years on the Arizona State Committee on Trails, membership on the Yavapai County resource advisory committee and service as the secretary with the Sedona Red Rock Trail Fund, where he remained involved for over five years.

Mr. Adams's dedication has been recognized through several awards, including a Program Award of Excellence from the Arizona Center for Afterschool Excellence in 2022, a James L. Oberstar Award for Excellence in Bicycle Advocacy in 2023, and an Excellence in Education Award from the Golden Foundation in 2025. Additionally, he was featured in 'Bike Park Pedals Past Finish Line, Opens to Public' published by Payson Roundup in 2025.

The inspiration behind Mr. Adams' commitment to youth cycling programs stems from personal experience and mentorship received throughout his upbringing as the eldest of three siblings in a single-parent household. Influenced by supportive figures arranged by his mother, he resolved to pay forward these opportunities by honoring a close friend whose passion for mountain biking left a lasting impression on him.

Looking ahead, Mr. Adams remains focused on ensuring that Wheel Fun is structured for long-term sustainability beyond his tenure. By hiring paid staff and actively mentoring future leaders within the organization, he aims to secure its continued service to children across Arizona, a legacy reflecting both gratitude for those who supported him and fulfillment found in riding alongside new generations of cyclists.
