WASHINGTON, DC, May 14, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Annie Parseghian, MBA, MPA, investment officer and operations officer for International Finance Corporation (IFC), was selected by Marquis Who's Who for a prominent feature in the April/May 2026 Washington, DC, regional edition of Forbes magazine.

Ms. Parseghian has built an impressive career in finance spanning nearly 25 years, but it's her journey to get to this point that is truly inspiring. Born in Beirut, she first traveled to the United States in the 1980s to attend college. Building on the business essentials taught by her father and bolstered by her studies, Ms. Parseghian established her own company. However, she struggled to find purpose as a business owner and was encouraged by her father to return to school.

Initially considering law school or diplomacy as alternative paths, Ms. Parseghian obtained an MPA and decided to move to Dubai, where she took on the role of commercial manager for an electromechanical company. After gaining key experience over the course of a couple of years in this position, she moved to Lebanon to run the family business. In 1999, she decided to pursue an MBA, after which she joined the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, as an investment officer. Embracing this opportunity, Ms. Parseghian discovered a passion for finance that has kept her affiliated with IFC ever since. She showcases her value to the organization by building relationships with banks and collaborating with microfinance organizations.

Noted for her ability to identify and solve problems before they grow out of control, Ms. Parseghian has become an invaluable contributor to IFC's operations. She regularly makes challenging calls that have improved clients' businesses and allowed IFC to achieve its goals. Ms. Parseghian hopes that her winding journey to find her place can help inspire others to persevere through their challenges. She never expected to do so many things throughout the course of her professional life; she advises taking things one day at a time until one can look back and realize the impact on people's lives.

Beyond her career, Ms. Parseghian finds enjoyment in exercise, art and supporting charity causes such as Doctors Without Borders. She remains committed to her work with IFC for the foreseeable future; however, she has also considered transitioning to consulting whenever she decides to retire.

ACADEMIC FOUNDATION
Ms. Parseghian's performance across her professional life has been supported by her education. When she initially came to the U.S., she studied for a bachelor's degree in political science at the University of Washington. Later, she obtained a Master of Public Administration from American University in 1991. She subsequently earned a Master of Business Administration from the same institution in 2000.

EMBRACING HER NEW HOME
While pointing to the influence of her father and her own persistence as major factors in her success, Ms. Parseghian also acknowledges the impact that moving to the U.S. had on her. She has been exposed to numerous important opportunities and is as grateful for her destination as she has been for the journey. As someone with Lebanese, Armenian and French heritage, Ms. Parseghian believes her diverse background allows her to see perspectives others may not consider. She is fluent in five languages.
