NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA, May 14, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Saima Batool has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Marked by more than 20 years of resilience and adaptability across three continents, Dr. Batool has led a distinguished career in the field of radiology. For the past five years, she has served as a radiologist at Lumus Imaging in Western Sydney, Australia, where she leads the breast imaging practice and is responsible for reporting computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and mammograms. Her role also includes conducting ultrasound- and computed tomography-guided procedures, performing X-ray and ultrasound reporting, and supervising international medical graduates, underscoring her desire to impact the lives of patients as well as the long-term future of the field.

Recognized for her expertise in pediatric procedures such as micturating cystourethrography and swallow studies, Dr. Batool is actively involved in teaching and presenting educational sessions for international medical graduates, preparing for examinations and mentoring registrars in pediatric and aesthetic radiology at Campbelltown Hospital.

Since 2022, Dr. Batool has also held the position of visiting medical officer and pediatric radiologist at Camden and Campbelltown Hospitals within the South Western Sydney Local Health District. In this capacity, she provides specialized pediatric radiology services, enhancing the collective health of the community while continuing her commitment to education and mentorship.

Prior to reaching her current roles in Australia, Dr. Batool was a consultant radiologist at Alfardan Medical with Northwestern Medicine in Lusail, Qatar, from 2020 to 2021. During this period, she successfully navigated the challenges of practicing medicine during the COVID-19 pandemic while maintaining high standards of patient care.

From 2018 to 2019, Dr. Batool contributed her expertise as a consultant radiologist at I-MED Radiology Network in Armidale, Australia. Her work there further solidified her reputation as a skilled practitioner capable of adapting to diverse healthcare environments.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Batool served as a clinical fellow in pediatric radiology and cardiac MRI at Alberta Children's Hospital under Alberta Health Services in Canada from 2015 to 2018. Notably, she became the first person to receive a fellowship in the new pediatric cardiac MRI program after playing a pivotal role in its establishment.

Dr. Batool began her professional journey as a radiologist at Rizvi Digital Imaging in Faisalabad, Pakistan, in 2011 after completing her specialty training. Her postgraduate residency included appointments at Combined Military Hospital in Lahore from 2010 to 2011, Bahawal Victoria Hospital in Bahawalpur from 2008 to 2010 and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Lahore from 2007 to 2008. She completed house officer training in radiology at Allied Hospital Faisalabad in 2006 and served as a house physician at Jinnah Hospital Lahore from 2005 to 2006.

Throughout every stage of her career, Dr. Batool has demonstrated exceptional dedication to advancing the field of radiology despite facing significant professional obstacles. She is particularly proud of sustaining her family's three-generation legacy in radiology while overcoming licensing challenges and adapting to new healthcare systems across Canada, Australia and Qatar. Her accolades include being recognized by her chief executive officer as a top educator in radiology and mentoring international medical graduates entering the field.

Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Dr. Batool completed fellowships in shoulder magnetic resonance imaging and hip magnetic resonance imaging through MRI Online (now Medality) in 2024. She also undertook the Stoller MRI musculoskeletal mini fellowship in 2023 and completed coursework as a radiation protection and safety officer in 2020.

Dr. Batool's formal education includes clinical radiology fellowship coursework at Alberta Children's Hospital under Alberta Health Services in 2015, a master's degree in medical imaging from the University of Calgary in 2013, a Medical Doctor from University of Health Sciences, Lahore in 2005 and a Bachelor of Science with honors from University of the Punjab in 2003.

Determined to make an impact outside the classroom as well, Dr. Batool worked as a research assistant specializing in neuroradiology at the Seaman Family MR Research Centre at the University of Calgary and was a research assistant focusing on body imaging at the same institution.

To augment her qualifications, Dr. Batool holds medical licenses from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners and the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta. She is also certified as a radiation safety officer in Qatar.

Alongside her primary roles, Dr. Batool was recognized as a fellow of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists in 2022 as well as the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan in 2011. She also holds an active membership with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and has co-authored several scholarly articles for influential publications such as Annals of Neurology, Journal of the American Heart Association and Journal of the Pakistan Medical Association.

Reflecting on her storied journey to date, Dr. Batool attributes her success to maintaining clear-headedness and consistency — qualities that have guided her through numerous relocations, demanding studies and balancing motherhood with her rigorous career. Her decision to pursue radiology was influenced by her family's strong medical legacy; her mother and both of her grandfathers were physicians. Although she was initially encouraged by her father to pursue gynecology, her uncle ultimately inspired her toward radiology — a field where he himself had excelled alongside her maternal grandfather.

Dr. Batool's journey into North American radiology was marked by perseverance; upon immigrating to Canada after passing her board examination in 2011, she faced recognition barriers but responded by earning a master's degree while gaining research experience before securing a clinical fellowship that allowed her to contribute meaningfully to pediatric cardiac MRI development.

Outside of her clinical practice, Dr. Batool is involved with Radiology Across Borders Limited, a group dedicated to providing education for physicians who are unable to access training opportunities elsewhere. She also serves as a sponsor and mentor for Food for Soul, an organization she co-founded with her sister that supports impoverished individuals in Pakistan by funding education and providing direct assistance to those reluctant to seek public help.

Personally sponsoring the education of three students in Pakistan underscores her long-held belief that charity begins at home.

Happily married and a proud mother of one, Dr. Batool enjoys traveling, exploring new destinations and engaging in adventurous activities with her family — including her son who was born in Canada and has lived across three countries, adapting alongside his parents' professional journeys.

In the coming years, Dr. Batool intends to found a charitable organization that supports international medical graduates pursuing careers in radiology — particularly those from underdeveloped countries — by providing mentorship, career advice and support based on her firsthand experience in overcoming systemic barriers. She also plans to expand her involvement with Radiology Across Borders by traveling internationally to educate physicians, thereby improving global access to radiological expertise as well as long-term patient outcomes.
