Before serving in his role at Climate Earth Inc., Mr. Laughton served as the founder and operating partner at Software Legacy Partners from 2023 to 2025. In this capacity, he focused on identifying and acquiring promising software businesses, leveraging his expertise in operational improvement and strategic growth.

Between 2019 and 2023, Mr. Laughton held the roles of president and chief operating officer at Insightly, where he oversaw company operations and played a pivotal role in scaling the business. His tenure at Insightly began in 2015 as a financial planning and analysis manager. Recognized as the first finance hire for the company before advancing to vice president of finance and operations from 2016 to 2019, Mr. Laughton also assumed responsibility as vice president of customer experience, finance and operations during 2019, further broadening his impact on organizational performance.

Mr. Laughton's earlier career was shaped by his time at Cisco Systems, where he progressed through several analytical and managerial positions between 2008 and 2015. He began as a financial analyst intern before moving into full-time roles, including analyst in corporate finance, analyst in audit, senior analyst in corporate development and structured finance, and manager of corporate development and structured finance. These experiences provided Mr. Laughton with a strong foundation in financial strategy and corporate growth.

In preparation for his future, Mr. Laughton earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of California (UC), Davis, in 2009. His education provided essential analytical skills that have underpinned his achievements across multiple sectors. In addition, Mr. Laughton completed a product management certificate from Product School in 2020, further enhancing his ability to develop innovative solutions within technology-driven industries.
