In addition to these responsibilities, Ms. Merrill manages vendor contracts, oversees payments, coordinates team schedules, conducts research and meetings, and ensures seamless collaboration among all parties involved. Prior to her current role, Ms. Merrill served as an event coordinator at the Shanna & Bryan Glazer Jewish Community Center in Tampa from 2018 to 2025. In this capacity, she was recognized for her outstanding contributions with the Employee of the Month award. Her work at the center provided her with invaluable experience in managing large-scale events and collaborating with diverse teams.

From 2017 to 2019, Ms. Merrill held the position of coordinator in training at Aflac. Leveraging her background in law, she quickly advanced within three to four months to a teaching and training role, where she spent two years helping companies increase their life insurance sales and providing health insurance services across Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania and Florida.

Ms. Merrill's earlier professional journey includes serving as support staff at Spector Gadon & Rosen, P.C. from 2009 to 2017. Before that, she worked as a paralegal at Buckley and Fudge, PA, between 2003 and 2008 while also acting as a nanny for the firm's owner's children. This dual role lasted about five years and marked the beginning of her interest in event planning as she took the initiative in organizing parties for the firm.

Beyond private events, Ms. Merrill is deeply involved with organizations such as the American Cancer Society, where she has contributed for about five years and currently serves as operations chair for the Cattlebaron event. As a cancer survivor with a personal connection to the cause, she finds this role especially rewarding and considers it one of her greatest accomplishments. Her leadership during these events has helped raise significant funds for cancer research and support.

Additionally, Ms. Merrill works closely with LAMPLighters Tampa on major fundraising events and supports Dress for Success Tampa Bay as a committee member for their runway event. She has also been a board member of Girls Empowered Mentally for Success since 2016 and an active fundraiser for Blood Cancer United since 2015.

Ms. Merrill's academic foundation includes earning a bachelor's degree in allied health science with minors in psychology and sociology from the University of Tampa in 2001. She further enhanced her qualifications by obtaining a paralegal certification in 2005, along with state exam health insurance-215 certification and a life and health certificate through the Aflac Insurance Agent Office.

Reflecting on her career, Ms. Merrill credits her parents for instilling a strong work ethic and encouraging her to pursue work that brings fulfillment. Their guidance inspired her to explore various fields before finding her passion in event planning, a journey that began while balancing roles as a nanny and paralegal, organizing themed parties.

Outside her professional commitments, Ms. Merrill enjoys playing pickleball and taking Pilates barre classes. She also likes to travel with her husband and spend time with friends. In her free time, she explores new experiences, such as visiting tea houses around Tampa, and she maintains a strong interest in learning about emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, as well as reading widely.
