Ms. Bushman has established herself as a distinguished violinist and musician, with a career spanning nearly 50 years marked by versatility, dedication and artistic excellence. Since 1978, she has performed with the Orchestra of St. Luke's and The Carnegie Hall Corporation, contributing to orchestral concerts, ballet productions and chamber music performances. Her role encompasses not only ensemble work but also solo recitals and private violin instruction, reflecting her commitment to both performance and education.

In 1992, Ms. Bushman assumed the position of assistant concertmaster with the Westchester Philharmonic in the United States, where she continues to demonstrate leadership and musicianship within the orchestra. Her tenure with the American Ballet Theater began in 1982 under the Ballet Theater Foundation Inc., where she has played an integral part in numerous ballet productions, further showcasing her adaptability across musical genres.

Ms. Bushman's expertise extends to notable performances with the New York City Opera and The Santa Fe Opera, where her artistry contributed to acclaimed operatic productions. As a performer with the Portsmouth Chamber Ensemble, she participated in a project that won the Artists International Competition, culminating in a concert at Carnegie Hall, a significant milestone in her career.

In addition to her orchestral and operatic engagements, Ms. Bushman's involvement with chamber music is further highlighted by her membership in The Crescent Quartet. With this ensemble, she presented works by female composers at prominent events, including the International Congress on Women in Music and the United Nations for International Women's Day, underscoring her advocacy for contemporary music and gender representation in classical music.

A regular substitute for nearly two decades with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Ms. Bushman connected with international audiences across South America, Europe and Asia. This extensive performance history stands as one of her most notable achievements, reflecting both her technical mastery and her global reach as a musician.

As a member of Orchestra of St. Luke's, she has served as soloist, chamber musician, concertmaster, as well section player since 1978.

Additionally, Ms. Bushman has been a member of the American Composers Orchestra and maintains active membership in Chamber Music America, reinforcing her engagement with professional organizations dedicated to advancing chamber music.

Ms. Bushman's educational background laid a strong foundation for her accomplishments. Influenced early on by her father, who served on the faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Music, Ms. Bushman began studying violin with Margaret Randall in the preparatory department before pursuing formal studies at Oberlin College. Her decision to attend Juilliard was driven by the opportunity to study with Oscar Shumsky, whose mentorship proved pivotal to her development as a violinist.

Reflecting on her career, Ms. Bushman attributes her success to an enduring willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to diverse musical settings, qualities that have enabled her to excel across opera, ballet, contemporary, baroque and jazz genres. She emphasizes continual growth and innovation as essential components of longevity in the arts.

Ms. Bushman's achievements have been recognized through several honors, including the Alumni Achievement Award from the Cleveland Institute of Music in 1992. Beyond performance, Ms. Bushman is dedicated to teaching privately and mentoring aspiring musicians. During the pandemic, she guided a high school student online who later pursued studies at Oberlin College, a testament to her influence as an educator.

Born in Cleveland, Ms. Bushman enjoys traveling and remains passionate about performing solo recitals alongside her orchestral commitments.
