CHARLESTOWN, IN, June 02, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sherri J. Moore, MSSW, LSSW, LCSW, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Moore has established a distinguished career in social work, marked by her dedication to supporting children and families through a variety of roles and organizations. Since 2021, she has served as a licensed school social worker and licensed clinical social worker at Madison Consolidated Schools, where she helps dysregulated children develop essential social skills and self-regulation techniques, such as breathing exercises and relaxation strategies.

Additionally, Ms. Moore leads lunch groups that have attracted participation from 78 students, following a curriculum that addresses anger management, getting along in school, school success, self-concept, problem-centered skill building, organization and the cultivation of healthy friendships. These small groups give the students a chance to belong by socially interacting, a chance to express themselves and a chance to benefit from the support of their peers. Although her role within the school does not permit her to provide therapeutic interventions, she remains committed to addressing the mental health needs of students.

In January 2026, Ms. Moore began practicing as a licensed clinical social worker with Headway, where she continues to provide therapy services. She also launched her own private practice in 2025, further expanding her reach within the community. Through these avenues, she provides behavioral health support to children and adults alike, drawing on her extensive experience in psychotherapy, case management and home-based therapy services.

Prior to her current positions, Ms. Moore worked as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the State of Indiana from 2019 to 2021. In this role, she assisted individuals in overcoming barriers to employment and achieving greater independence. From 2014 to 2019, she was a therapist at LifeSpring Health Systems, where she provided outpatient therapy and collaborated closely with families involved with the Department of Child Services.

Ms. Moore's professional journey began at Ireland Home-Based Services in 2013, where she worked as a therapist immediately after earning her master's degree in social work. Her early career was shaped by formative experiences at youth shelters while completing her bachelor's degree in criminal justice and sociology. It was during this time that Ms. Moore witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by children living in difficult environments — many with parents struggling with addiction — and recognized that their needs were often overlooked. This realization inspired her to shift her focus from accounting to social work.

Throughout her career, Ms. Moore has maintained active membership in professional organizations, including the National Association of Social Workers and the Indiana School Social Work Association. These affiliations have provided valuable opportunities for professional development and collaboration within the field.

Ms. Moore's academic background includes a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville, completed in 2013, and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Indiana University Southeast. She holds dual licensure as a school social worker with the Department of Education and as a licensed clinical social worker in behavioral health.

Reflecting on her career, Ms. Moore believes her compassion has been central to her success, a quality she attributes to both personal conviction and faith. Early in her career, she was deeply affected by the stories of children she encountered at youth shelters, but over time, she found strength in her belief that she was called to this work. Ms. Moore believes her personal experience with trauma enhances her ability to relate to clients and support them through difficult challenges.

Beyond her professional achievements, Ms. Moore has contributed to civic life as a volunteer at a domestic violence shelter in Salem. Her commitment to service was recognized with a scholarship from the Indiana School Social Workers Association.

Born in Columbus, Indiana, Ms. Moore enjoys spending time with her three children and nine grandchildren outside of work. Looking ahead, she is focused on expanding her private practice and remains energized by her mission to impact lives through mental health advocacy and support. She is dedicated to reducing stigma around mental health issues and encourages others to recognize that seeking help is both necessary and acceptable.
