PHOENIX, AZ, June 02, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Stephen Ralph has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Ralph has established a distinguished career in the medical device and healthcare sectors. He currently serves as vice president of marketing and new product development at W. L. Gore & Associates, a position he has held since 2022. In this role, he leads the company's commercial cardiac surgery business, supporting underserved pediatric populations, including patients with congenital heart disease.

Mr. Ralph oversees product portfolio strategy and product life cycle management, driving sustaining engineering initiatives alongside next-generation innovation. His leadership focuses on the development and advancement of implantable medical technologies for open heart surgery, including products and solutions that support total artificial heart and ventricular assist device procedures by optimizing clinical outcomes, reducing surgical operating times, and minimizing complications. Through the integration of commercial strategy with product development, Mr. Ralph continues to advance innovative patient care solutions for both adult and pediatric patients while contributing to progress across the cardiovascular medical device field.

From 2018 to 2021, Mr. Ralph served as vice president of marketing for global medical device innovation at W. L. Gore & Associates. He was instrumental in co-leading a newly established product incubator focused on innovation, market strategy and operational execution within the medical device and healthcare sectors. Overseeing a team of 30 to 40 professionals, he spearheaded front-end innovation to identify new therapies and diagnostics for cardiovascular, renal, and heart failure management. His leadership guided these concepts from initial ideation and concept development to commercialization, contributing significantly to Gore Medical's revenue and global enterprise annual revenue of $5 billion.

From 2016 to 2017, Mr. Ralph served in strategic marketing and market development for medical device innovation at W. L. Gore & Associates. During this period, he further refined his expertise in identifying unmet clinical needs and translating them into viable product development strategies.

Before joining W. L. Gore & Associates, Mr. Ralph was global vice president of marketing for the cardiometabolic strategic business unit at Alere Inc. from 2012 to 2015. He previously served as senior director of marketing for the cardiovascular strategic business unit from 2011 to 2012 and as director of market development from 2009 to 2011. At Alere, which later became part of Abbott through a series of acquisitions, Mr. Ralph led the worldwide cardiovascular and metabolic business unit. He achieved a breakthrough by developing and then globalizing point-of-care testing with smart-card wireless technology that enabled rapid analysis of critical analytes and metabolites — transforming emergency room, operating room, and intensive care and neonatal practices worldwide and expanding access in underserved markets such as India.

From 2005 to 2009, Mr. Ralph was vice president of marketing and program director for heart failure management at CardioMEMS (acquired by St. Jude Medical and now Abbott) after serving as director of marketing for heart failure management from 2004 to 2005. He was highly recommended for the study by the co-principal investigator, Dr. William T. Abraham, who stated, in part, that Mr. Ralph is "truly a visionary with superior insight and leadership." In these roles, Mr. Ralph advanced an innovative solution for patients with advanced heart failure. Mr. Ralph developed and led the clinical, research & development, and business strategy for the world's first implantable wireless hemodynamic monitor. The landmark CHAMPION clinical trial demonstrated a 37% reduction in heart failure-related hospitalizations, establishing a new paradigm in remote heart failure management and chronic disease monitoring leading to a Class IIb recommendation and Level B evidence for New York Heart Association (NYHA) Class III heart failure patients.

Between 1999 and 2004, Mr. Ralph contributed as a senior global product manager for anesthesia delivery and patient monitoring at GE Healthcare. He played a key role in launching the world's first electronic anesthesia machine, collaborating with clinicians, research and development teams to integrate electronic anesthesia delivery with advanced patient monitoring and electronic medical records.

From 1993 to 1999, Mr. Ralph served as the European business unit manager at Medtronic—a period marked by his most notable achievement: the development and commercialization of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT). Recognizing the importance of collaboration with leading cardiology experts, he guided CRT from early proof of concept through successful commercialization. This therapy revolutionized heart failure management by offering an alternative to optimized medical therapy alone, earning a Class 1 recommendation and Level A evidence from the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, the European Society of Cardiology, and the Heart Failure Society of America. Under his leadership, his team also developed next-generation devices integrated with implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (CRT-D), fundamentally shifting treatment paradigms for patients with refractory heart failure and at risk from terminal cardiac ventricular arrythmias.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Ralph served as sales and marketing manager for Northern Europe at Baxter Healthcare (Bentley-Edwards Cardiovascular Surgery Division) from 1987 to 1993; as a cardiac physiologist within the National Health Service (NHS) from 1980 to 1986.

Mr. Ralph is recognized as an expert in medical device, healthcare, cardiovascular medicine, identifying unmet needs, translating user requirements and needs into product development strategies, navigating clinical, market access, regulatory phases, and commercializing highly valued and sustainable differentiated products through portfolio and product life cycle management. This achievement reflects his dedication to advancing patient care.

He holds three patents: one for an implantable wireless sensor for in vivo pressure measurement and continuous cardiac output determination (United States patent granted in 2007) and another for pediatric cannulae for venous and arterial access (United States patent granted in 2005) and recently patented for implantable bioabsorbable tissue scaffold (2026).

His academic background includes a Master of Science in business management with a focus on marketing from the University of South Wales; a Master of Business Administration from York St John University; executive education coursework in biodesign managing innovation at Stanford University; course work in innovation, Center for Medical Technology & Innovation, University of Rochester, and immersive clinical training in medical physics and physiology at St. Mary's University Hospital. These academic achievements have been instrumental in shaping his ability to bridge clinical insight with business acumen—skills that have underpinned his success across multiple organizations.

Mr. Ralph's professional credentials are extensive: member, Remote Pilot Association (RPA) FAA Part 107 (2026); Notary Public Commission from the Secretary of State in Arizona (2025); Advanced ECMO Training, University of Cambridge (2022); The Big Picture Framework (2022); mentor, Lean Innovation Start-Up (2020); mentor, Market Assessment, Market Edge (2020); fellow designation with The Chartered Institute of Marketing (2017); chartered marketer status with The Chartered Institute of Marketing (2017 to present); Life member The National Association for Amateur Radio (2008); Six Sigma Certification, GE HealthCare (2004); and Advanced Life Support (ALS) Resuscitation Council UK (2000).

He attributes his accomplishments not only to his rigorous academic training but also to his formative work experiences—and, equally importantly, to the high-performing teams he has built and led throughout his career.

Mr. Ralph's civic involvement is equally distinguished: he has served as a member of the UCLA Biodesign Innovation Council at UCLA Health since 2021; panelist and judge for BioTools Innovator since 2021; advisory board member at University of California, Los Angeles since 2020; and advisor, mentor, panelist and judge for MedTech Innovator since 2018.

His professional excellence has been recognized through several awards, including annual Presidents Stock Award (2009-2015), Alere, Inc.; President's Stock Award (2006), Medtronic; Presidents Club (1993) and Sovereign Club (1992), Baxter Healthcare.

Mr. Ralph's scholarly work includes as a contributor to "Duraflo II in Extra Corporeal Systems" (American Society of Extracorporeal Technology); co-author, "How many people with heart failure are appropriate for biventricular resynchronization?" (European Heart Journal), and contributor to "Unexplained Syncope Satellite Symposium" (European Society of Cardiology).

On a personal level, Mr. Ralph is married to Sandra Ralph. He remains committed to advancing innovation in the medical device and healthcare industry—focusing on product exploration to improve treatment options for cardiac surgery patients across all age groups while addressing unmet needs in both adult and pediatric populations. He is dedicated to developing new options specifically designed for pediatric cardiac surgery, particularly in infants who have congenital heart disease—underscoring his commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable children born with congenital heart conditions.

Throughout his career spanning continents and disciplines, Mr. Ralph has demonstrated unwavering dedication to elevating healthcare outcomes by fostering collaborative environments that drive meaningful change—leaving an indelible mark on industry practice and patient lives worldwide.
