WINTHROP, MA, June 03, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jason Pollutro has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Pollutro has established a distinguished career in architecture, marked by nearly three decades of professional experience and a reputation for expertise in life sciences design. Since 2021, he has served as a Project Architect at Elkus Manfredi Architects, where he is responsible for a dynamic blend of technical and collaborative tasks. He uses a hybrid workweek, with four days in the office and one day remote. Mr. Pollutro primarily utilizes Revit, a sophisticated three-dimensional drafting program that enables collaboration among team members on shared models.
In this capacity, Mr. Pollutro dedicates approximately half his time to detailed model work, addressing specific assignments while also managing communications with clients and colleagues to ensure project continuity. His responsibilities include producing early design documents and developing comprehensive drawing sets, which contractors typically use for pricing. It is very common for him to be balancing the workloads of multiple ongoing projects, always working toward deadlines. While working on a variety of drawing packages, preparing for an upcoming client meeting may take precedence.
Prior to joining Elkus Manfredi Architects in 2021, Mr. Pollutro was a Project Architect at TRIA Architects from 2019 to 2021. In this capacity, he contributed to the design and execution of complex architectural renovation projects, further honing his skills in the life sciences sector. Mr. Pollutro has worked with both Novartis and Moderna during this important period of growth in his career.
Between 2013 and 2017, Mr. Pollutro worked as a designer at Wilson Architects Inc., focusing on innovative solutions for both teaching labs and research environments. His tenure at DiMella Shaffer from 2011 to 2013 as a designer allowed him to move into the life science design sector from institutional and healthcare.
He was previously a job captain at Kallmann McKinnell & Wood Architects Inc. from 2007 to 2010, where he played a pivotal role in the design development and construction administration of the Miller Performing Arts Center (Phase 2) at Alfred University, a project he regards as his most significant professional achievement. The center was made possible through the funding set forth by Marlin Miller, an alumnus of Alfred University who achieved success in finance.
From 1999 to 2007, Mr. Pollutro was a designer at Anshen + Allen, contributing to large-scale healthcare and institutional projects. His career began with Rothman Partners, a healthcare design firm based in Boston, where he worked for eight years while completing his graduate studies.
In addition to his roles within established firms, Mr. Pollutro has owned JRP Design since obtaining his license. As a sole proprietor, he selectively undertakes residential renovations and additions — often transforming underutilized attic spaces into functional living areas — and manages several new construction projects during their design phases. He has done several studies for clients looking to renovate their home to include an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU). He dedicates limited hours on weeknights and extensive time on weekends to these side projects. The project construction costs have ranged from $75,000 to $250,000 for these smaller renovations and additions. A far cry from the 300-million-dollar life science projects, which typically include a very large project team. However, he finds these small projects just as fruitful and fulfilling.
Throughout his career, Mr. Pollutro has maintained professional affiliations that reflect his commitment to advancing the industry and engaging with the community. He has been a member of the Winthrop Planning Board since 2023 and maintains active memberships with the Boston Society of Architects and the American Institute of Architects.
Mr. Pollutro's academic background laid a strong foundation for his achievements in architecture. He earned a Master of Architecture from Boston Architectural College in 2005 after completing a Bachelor of Science majoring in architectural engineering technology at the University of Hartford in 1998. The Boston Architectural College requires all students in both the MArch and BArch programs to work during the day while attending classes in the evening.
Beyond his formal education, Mr. Pollutro holds several professional certifications that underscore his expertise. He is a registered architect in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, licensed in 2020; the State of New Hampshire, licensed in 2023; and the State of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, licensed in 2026. He also holds an NCARB Certificate from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, earned in 2023, and is recognized as a My Green Lab Ambassador by My Green Lab in 2025.
Mr. Pollutro attributes his success to an unwavering sincerity with clients and coworkers, emphasizing realistic expectations and prudent resource management. He values constructive criticism from colleagues and contractors as an opportunity for growth rather than discouragement and remains open to rejection as an essential aspect of both professional and character development. He believes the focus should remain on the project and the client rather than on himself. Mr. Pollutro maintains a strong desire to deliver the best possible outcome for each task and aims to be perceived as a collaborative, open-minded, and fiercely committed rather than agenda-driven.
Mr. Pollutro's interest in architecture was first sparked when his parents, Robert Pollutro and Dorette Avallone, were house hunting. Several houses were visited during construction. During this time, he remembers seeing the blueprints on the contractor's table, and it was as if a new language had been discovered. He then attended Oliver Wolcott Technical High School where he selected drafting as his trade. He credits his family for supporting his decision to attend architecture school. In addition to his mother and father, Jason credits his stepfather, James Avallone, and his brother, Jeremy Pollutro, as important influences.
Outside his professional pursuits, Mr. Pollutro enjoys running. His passion is evident through his involvement with Boston-based running clubs, including the Tracksmith Boston Hares and Somerville Road Runners. He still enjoys a road race or track competition with his peers as a rust buster.
