MATAWAN, NJ, June 03, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rachel Anne Carter, ECE MS SPEd & Ed; ECE/CE Certified B-6 NY, B-12 PA, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected based on current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mrs. Carter has established a distinguished career in early childhood and special education, marked by her expertise in classroom modifications and accommodations for diverse learning needs, adaptive classroom environments, lesson plan development, and real-time instructional adjustment and behavioral response techniques. She is also recognized for her proficiency in teacher and director training, coaching, and professional development. Mrs. Carter serves as the Corporate Director of Education at Ivy Prep Early Learning Academy. In this capacity, she has played a pivotal role in the organization's curriculum and educational training, as well as aiding in the expansion of new locations across New York City, including the opening of a second location on Staten Island and in the design stages of a Harlem location opening in 2027.

Among a myriad of responsibilities in her leading corporate role, Mrs. Carter is tasked with handling the initial phases of collaboration with architects and designers, determining classroom layouts and sizes according to regulatory standards, enhancing classroom aesthetics from a child's perspective, ordering furniture, and setting up classrooms. She also frequently travels between the locations and meets with directors and teachers remotely to oversee classroom design work and ensure that each environment is both functional and inviting for young learners. Additionally, Mrs. Carter reviews resumes, conducts interviews, and hires staff for specific locations, conducting teaching demonstrations and family engagement events, and providing operational support within classrooms in all locations.

A hallmark of Mrs. Carter's approach is her commitment to integrating art as a way of learning, following the lead of the child's interests to determine teaching strategies, and utilizing aspects of nature and/or a natural setting to help scaffold students towards reaching their goals and being proud of their successes. She encourages educators to step outside their comfort zones by bringing learning outdoors, having students sort rocks, pinecones, and leaves by attribute at their local parks or school playgrounds, or observing animals in their natural habitat from a safe distance, activities that foster a deeper connection with nature. By facilitating these experiences, Mrs. Carter also believes it helps teachers rediscover their own inner child's playful side, which translates into more enthusiastic connections and deeper, more meaningful interactions with students. This philosophy has led to transformative experiences for both educators and children under her guidance.

Mrs. Carter's influence extends beyond Ivy Prep Early Learning Academy through her collaboration with consultant work with various other early learning centers across New York City and collegiate teachings in Pennsylvania, where she developed and implemented a Creativity course in early childhood education and contributed to the development of two additional EC Special Needs courses at the college. Her keen and sensitive awareness of people and their potential has also made a uniquely monumental impact on the autism community. Through her professional engagement, she saw great potential in her fellow Sesame Workshop colleague, Louis Henry Mitchell, the creative director overseeing Character Design specifically for Sesame Street, and the author of "Qreative Evolution- How to Question Everything to Find Your Creative Fulfillment." Mrs. Carter's invitation to Louis to work with children on the spectrum and her guided immersive experience allowed him to engage deeply with these children and their families. This provided experiences for Louis to design Julia, the Muppet on the autism spectrum, without which Louis would not have accepted the assignment. While she remains interested in various initiatives at Sesame Street and has received invitations to participate further, Ms. Carter continues to evaluate her options as she explores new possibilities for impact.

Before her current role, Mrs. Carter was an early intervention ABA Therapist at Sunny Days Early Childhood Developmental Services, Inc., from 2013 to 2021. The organization specializes in providing Early Childhood Developmental Services dedicated to children with learning disabilities. In this position, she provided therapeutic support for young children requiring early intervention services, working closely with families to develop individualized strategies that promoted developmental progress.

Mrs. Carter also served as adjunct faculty at Northampton Community College, both in-person and remotely, from 2013 to 2015. There, she developed and taught courses focused on early childhood education and creativity in education, blending her passion for art with pedagogical best practices to inspire future educators. Mrs. Carter also spent 2 years as the Assistant Director at New Beginnings Daycare, where she managed afternoon operations while supporting and training staff members in the classroom.

Mrs. Carter also spent 3 years as a lead teacher at Pocono Services for Families & Children, Monroe County Head Start, from 2010 to 2013. She taught preschool-aged students 3-5, designed inclusive lesson plans tailored to the needs of diverse learners, and fostered an environment that encouraged exploration and growth. Earlier in her career, she worked in community habilitation at Eden II Programs from 2001 to 2011, where she worked as a classroom teacher for students with developmental delays aged 3 to 16 years old. Mrs. Carter also worked as an after-school teacher, helping students with developmental delays engage and integrate into community activities and social outings, supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence within their communities.

Mrs. Carter also briefly worked as a special education teacher at The Children's Center for Early Learning between 2009 and 2010, where she taught pre-school and implemented individualized education plans for students with significant cognitive delays as a Special Education Itinerant Teacher after school.

Notably, Mrs. Carter's initial interest in special needs education was sparked immediately after high school when she accepted a position as a preschool teacher's assistant within a program serving children with varying degrees of cognitive delay. Although she is deeply drawn to art and being an artist on a personal level, she found profound fulfillment working directly with children who benefited from creative expression as part of their learning process. This realization ultimately guided Mrs. Carter toward advanced studies in special education.

In preparation for her future, Mrs. Carter obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design from the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 2006 and a Master of Science in general education and special education from Touro University in New York City in 2009. This advanced degree equipped her with comprehensive knowledge of instructional strategies for diverse learners and laid the foundation for her subsequent achievements in curriculum development and teacher training. Mrs. Carter's artistic training has been instrumental in shaping her innovative approach to integrating art therapy into educational practice.

Mrs. Carter maintains several professional certifications. She first acquired a New York State professional certificate in special education for birth to grade two and for grades one to six, conferred in 2010. In 2011, she received a Pennsylvania State professional certificate in education and special education for nursery to grade 12.

In addition to her professional roles, Mrs. Carter is civically engaged through involvement with organizations such as Autism Speaks and by volunteering for children's nature activities, as well as science and nature programs for mothers. These efforts reflect her dedication to fostering curiosity about the natural world among young learners and supporting families through hands-on educational experiences.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Carter has attributed much of her success to intuitive guidance and spiritual beliefs. This unique energy resonates especially when working with nonverbal children who instinctively understand her approach. She believes that allowing children to take the lead enables her to scaffold their learning effectively while fostering mutual growth between educator and student.

Looking ahead, Mrs. Carter is developing her own innovative curriculum that elevates existing educational models by emphasizing art- and nature-based learning methods designed to foster humanity among students nationwide. Her vision includes training administrators across the country so they can implement these approaches within their own institutions while prioritizing ongoing self-improvement alongside professional advancement. Mrs. Carter's career stands as a testament to the transformative power of creativity, intuition, and compassion within early childhood education, qualities that continue to shape both her personal journey and lasting contributions to the field.
