PACIFICA, CA, June 10, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nicole Renae Risdall has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Currently serving as the senior director of global public affairs for the LIVE Portfolio as well as global patient advocacy at Gilead Sciences, Inc., Ms. Risdall is a distinguished leader in therapeutic area communications, data communications and patient support. In her capacity since 2023, she has been pivotal in promoting Gilead's work at medical congresses around the world, including the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) and The Liver Meeting® hosted by the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), presenting critical data on pharmaceutical advancements and real-world evidence regarding the epidemiology of liver disease.
Ms. Risdall's responsibilities include releasing up-to-date data to the public, engaging with physicians and reporters, addressing management issues related to liver diseases and collaborating with advocates worldwide to better understand and address the needs of patients. Recognized for her commitment to raising awareness about the unique challenges faced by those living with these conditions, she continues to build and maintain key partnerships that enhance community support.
Since 2022, Ms. Risdall has also held the position of senior director of global and United States public affairs for COVID-19 and emerging viruses at Gilead Sciences, where she has overseen communications strategies during a period marked by unprecedented worldwide health challenges. From 2021 to 2022, she served as the director of U.S. public affairs for COVID-19 at Gilead, further solidifying her expertise in high-stakes healthcare communications.
Prior to joining Gilead Sciences, Ms. Risdall operated as both vice president of healthcare and consultant at N. Risdall Public Relations Consulting from 2019 to 2021. During this period, she provided strategic counsel and oversaw operations for clients as they navigated the complexities of healthcare communications amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
From 2016 to 2019, Ms. Risdall excelled as the marketing communications manager and senior public relations specialist at Experian. In these roles, she developed targeted media strategies, enhanced blog content and improved email marketing promotions — including securing features in the Wall Street Journal, Modern Healthcare and American Banker — to connect with key target audiences within the health technology sector.
In 2016, Ms. Risdall served as a senior account supervisor at Chandler Chicco Agency (part of Syneos Health company), where she managed client relationships and led teams in delivering impactful healthcare campaigns. Her business acumen was further demonstrated during her tenure as a business development manager at First Interstate BancSystem from 2014 to 2016.
In addition to her work in public affairs and healthcare communications, Ms. Risdall has maintained her family legacy by serving as the owner and operator of Triple R Ranch Inc., a cattle ranch located near Red Lodge, Montana, from 2013 to 2014. The ranch has been in her family for three generations since her ancestors immigrated from Holland and acquired land through the Homestead Act. Today, she co-owns the ranch alongside her brother and cousin, leasing it for cattle grazing purposes.
Ms. Risdall's agency experience also includes roles as an account supervisor at Hill & Knowlton from 2012 to 2013 and MSL from 2010 to 2011. Over the course of four years with the New York City public relations firm Cohn & Wolfe (now Burson), she advanced from account executive to senior account executive and then account supervisor. Her work during this time focused on crisis communications for pharmaceutical clients — particularly diabetes drugs — as she leveraged her background in endocrinology communications.
Ms. Risdall began her career as the assistant director of public and media relations at the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE) in Florida from 2005 to 2006. Serving as a liaison between pharmaceutical companies, campaign agencies and AACE leadership, she drove organizational interests while also managing multifaceted projects and enhancing the company's website.
Throughout her professional journey, Ms. Risdall has demonstrated exceptional expertise in developing innovative campaigns that elevate patient voices within the medical community. Among her proudest achievements to date is the creation of "All the Feelings With PBC," a campaign she designed to illuminate the lived experiences of individuals with primary biliary cholangitis — a chronic autoimmune liver disease that disproportionately affects women.
By partnering patients with artists and poets who translate their stories into powerful visual art and poetry, which is also presented at medical congresses, Ms. Risdall's initiative encourages physicians to consider quality-of-life issues alongside clinical biomarkers when treating patients with PBC. Her campaign has since been shortlisted for two SABRE Awards and one PRWeek award.
Before venturing onto her vocational path, Ms. Risdall pursued higher education and earned a bachelor's degree in business with a concentration in corporate communications from California State University, Fullerton in 2005. Underscoring her dedication to promoting inclusive workplaces and holistic well-being, she is certified in preventing workplace harassment by Emtrain and as a health coach by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
Reflecting on her storied journey to date, Ms. Risdall attributes her achievements to maintaining a strong work ethic and self-starting approach, both of which have enabled her to tackle complex challenges throughout her career. Early on, she implemented creative problem-solving techniques among her team members by encouraging them to generate multiple solutions before seeking guidance — a practice that fostered their independence and critical thinking abilities.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Ms. Risdall has been civically engaged as a cyclist supporting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society since 2017 and contributed as a photographer for the New York Junior League from 2010 to 2011. Her outstanding contributions within the healthcare sector and beyond have led to her selection for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who in America.
In her personal life, Ms. Risdall values her family deeply — a perspective shaped by personal experiences of balancing caregiving responsibilities with her career demands during challenging times. She emphasizes a family-first mentality among her teams by encouraging open communication about their personal needs and supporting a healthy work-life balance.
Ms. Risdall happily shares her life with her partner Jay, whom she met during their early years working at Disneyland before they reconnected many years later. As a balance to her professional responsibilities, she enjoys hobbies such as practicing yoga, reading and cooking, all of which contribute to her happiness and well-being.
Determined to further her impact in the coming years, Ms. Risdall is eager to expand into patient advocacy roles within the pharmaceutical industry. Finding deep fulfillment in understanding the needs of patients and exploring methods for companies to become better partners, she remains committed to championing women's issues in the workplace while serving as a mentor for future leaders in healthcare communications.
