Notably, he has worked under extreme circumstances within these environments, spending nights exposed to jungle dangers or enduring freezing desert temperatures without proper equipment.
Concurrently to his work at Orinoquia Consulting & Mining, Mr. Escarrachi served as a mineral exploration consultant for the Saudi Arabia Geological Survey in Jeddah from 2009 to 2022, contributing significantly to the discovery and development of mineral resources in the region. He was also engaged as a consulting economic geologist with Samex Mining Corp. of the United States in the Atacama Region of Chile from 2012 to 2013, during which he applied his advanced geological knowledge to support exploration initiatives.
In 2012, Mr. Escarrachi held the position of senior exploration manager at Sulliden Gold Corporation Ltd., overseeing projects across Canada, Peru and Latin America. His leadership proved vital in advancing exploration programs and identifying new opportunities for resource development. From 2010 to 2011, he was the chief geologist at Apurimac Ferrum S.A., subsidiary of Strike Resources of Australia, where he directed geological teams and managed large-scale exploration projects.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Escarrachi excelled as a quality control manager at CVG Ferrominera Orinoco C.A. in Venezuela from 1979 to 1988. In this role, he ensured rigorous standards in mineral extraction and processing operations while gaining valuable leadership experience. He began his professional journey as a project director at the Ministerio de Energia y Minas in Venezuela from 1977 to 1980, marking the start of his extensive involvement in mineral exploration and mining management.
Throughout his five decades in geology, Mr. Escarrachi has achieved several landmark accomplishments that have defined his legacy within the field. Among his most notable achievements are the discovery of two gold mines in Saudi Arabia from initial prospecting stages, the identification of a gold mine in British Guyana, and the discovery of the Las Bambas copper mine in Peru which is now recognized as a major operating mine.
Hailing from an equally accomplished academic foundation, Mr. Escarrachi earned a Master of Science in economic geology from Michigan Technological University in 1977 as well as a bachelor's degree in geology and earth science from Wittenberg University in 1974. To augment his qualifications, he is certified as a professional geologist by the Association of Professional Geologists in (AIPG-11914), Thornton, Colorado, USA.
