HUDSON, MI, June 16, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ramona Hammel has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Hammel has established a distinguished career in dental hygiene, dedicating herself to the field since 1980. Her expertise and commitment have made her a trusted figure among patients and colleagues alike. Since 1988, she has served as a dental hygienist, where her responsibilities include collecting patient dental and medical histories to identify oral health concerns and contributing health conditions. She is adept at assessing teeth and gum conditions to determine appropriate dental hygiene treatments and care plans, performing dental cleanings, full mouth debridement, scaling and root planing procedures based on patient needs.

Furthermore, Ms. Hammel gathers crucial diagnostic information through X-rays, periodontal charting and oral examinations. Dedicated to preventative care, she regularly educates patients on proper tooth brushing and oral hygiene practices. When required, she takes impressions for mouthguards and other dental appliances. She also monitors missing or loose teeth to evaluate underlying oral health issues, maintaining constant communication with patients throughout their appointments to ensure accurate assessments and highly personalized treatment plans.

A hallmark of Ms. Hammel's professional journey is her ability to gain the trust of her patients. She recognizes that building rapport is essential for encouraging patients to return for necessary treatments and fostering confidence in both her recommendations and those of the dentist. By prioritizing patient comfort, especially for those with previous negative dental experiences, she creates an environment where individuals feel at ease. This dedication to patient care stands as one of her most notable achievements.

In addition to her longstanding work in dentistry, Ms. Hammel has expanded her professional pursuits into authorship. As a co-author with her mother, Donna Gene Stankey, with Ramona Hammel Books, she has published several works that focus on their family history. This transition was inspired by a desire to preserve the stories of previous generations for future readers.

Drawing on generations of family stories and rural traditions, Ms. Hammel's literary contributions include "Rate," which was first released in 2020. Then came "The Mischief Maker" released in 2022 along with "Forever a Farmer" all published under her own imprint, Ramona Hammel Books. "Rate" was then released again in 2023 after being revised and split into two books: "Rate" and "The Lad Called Rate." Each of these works reflects her deep commitment to preserving family history while offering readers rich insight into rural life across different eras.

Ms. Hammel highlights the significance of her published works through the character of Rate, who embodies resilience and optimism despite difficult family circumstances. Rather than allowing hardship to define him, Rate chooses to embrace life and pursue a positive future. After the passing of his father, his sister comes to realize the unfair treatment Rate had endured. Although her father had left everything to her, she came to realize the unfair treatment her brother had received from the family. She returns the farm back to Rate, which leads to healing between she and her brother.

Through Rate's story, Ms. Hammel conveys an important message about making choices; he successfully balances a career in accounting with his passion for farming, illustrating that the path to success is paved with the right decisions. Her narrative serves as a reminder that individuals can choose to rise above their circumstances and forge a brighter future.

Ms. Hammel's educational background laid the foundation for her success in healthcare and literature. She earned an associate's degree in dental hygiene from Grand Rapids Community College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, which provided her with the technical knowledge and clinical skills necessary for excellence in dental care.

Prior to this achievement, Ms. Hammel completed coursework as a medical secretary at Davenport College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Although she initially pursued a path in medical administration, she soon realized her true calling was in dentistry, a realization influenced by her own positive experiences as a dental patient who never had cavities or wisdom teeth.

Ms. Hammel's journey into writing was shaped by collaboration with her mother, who played a pivotal role in documenting their family's stories. Together, they published four books that chronicle the lives of Ms. Hammel's great-grandparents, great-great-grandparents and grandfather. These narratives were carefully curated from family discussions and memories shared during Ms. Hammel's childhood. The authenticity of these stories is central to their appeal; readers often express admiration upon learning that the tales are drawn from real-life experiences spanning three generations.

Born in Allegan, Ms. Hammel enjoys a variety of personal interests, such as crocheting, latch hook rugs, embroidery, and gardening - including tending pear, apple, peach and cherry trees, elderberry bushes, grape vines, hickory nut trees and an asparagus patch - and canning or freezing produce from her garden. She also enters items in the local Hillsdale County Fair. They include antiques, craft items, baked goods, and canned goods. She has acquired many 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons along with a few "best in class" ribbons for her talent and efforts. She remains active in promoting her books through national book fairs, including New York and Los Angeles. She has also participated in the Frankfort and Beijing book fairs and did a book signing at the London Book Fair.

Looking ahead, Ms. Hammel intends to continue pursuing both dental hygiene and writing while exploring opportunities to adapt her stories for film audiences. She values the wholesome nature of her narratives and aims to share them with families worldwide, ensuring that the legacy of earlier generations endures through literature and potentially cinema.
