PENDLETON, OR, June 16, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kyle Willman has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. Hailing from more than two decades of experience, Mr. Willman has led a distinguished career in public service, environmental management and community leadership. In 2025, he assumed the presidency of the Eastern Oregon Region Pacific Northwest Clean Water Association (EOR-PNCWA), through which he oversees design, maintenance, construction and operational projects related to wastewater treatment and collection. His work in this role enhances operational efficiency as well as community safety for individuals and families throughout Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.

Also in 2025, Mr. Willman became the assistant public works director for the City of Pendleton, Oregon, where he manages the wastewater treatment plant, collaborates with operators to establish work schedules, coordinates with the environmental laboratory to set sampling schedules for water and wastewater treatment and conducts performance evaluations for all employees. He is also responsible for making critical process decisions regarding necessary actions within the plant as well as capital improvement projects.

In addition to his current roles, Mr. Willman serves as wastewater superintendent for the City of Pendleton. Advancing sustainable energy initiatives, he has leveraged his expertise in wastewater treatment, renewable energy and sustainable energy in the development of the solar canopy. This innovative project, which covers the chlorine contact chamber and generates approximately one-third of the facility's power while cooling effluent water, earned him several accolades including the Sustainability Practices Award and the Outstanding Member Agency Project Innovation Award from the Oregon Association of Clean Water Agencies.

From 2011 to 2024, Mr. Willman worked as a wastewater operator technician for the City of Pendleton, ensuring efficient and environmentally responsible operations. His tenure included significant contributions to process optimization and staff development as he continued to hone his leadership skills before being promoted to superintendent. Earlier in his career, he was employed as a wind turbine technician with NextEra Energy Resources from 2008 to 2011, where he gained valuable experience performing maintenance and repairs on turbine generators.

Mr. Willman began his civilian journey as a correctional officer with the Oregon State Department of Corrections in Pendleton, demonstrating his versatility and longstanding commitment to public safety. His career began with military service in the Oregon Army National Guard in 2006, during which he gained valuable early leadership experience, resilience and discipline.

Beyond his municipal service, Mr. Willman is affiliated with several professional organizations with the goal of making a positive impact throughout the State of Oregon. He has served as vice president of the Pacific Northwest Clean Water Association Eastern Oregon Region since 2019 and maintains active membership with organizations such as the Oregon Association of Clean Water Agencies, American Water Works Association, and the American Public Works Association.

Also known for his contributions to civic initiatives and youth development, Mr. Willman was a coach with the Pendleton Wrestling Club from 2007 until his retirement in 2024. Additionally, he has held leadership roles with the Rollin Schimmel Memorial Wrestling Foundation Inc., serving as president since 2021 after six years as vice president. Determined to enhance his community and aid his fellow veterans, he maintains membership with Veterans of Foreign Wars and participates in the Exchange Club of Pendleton Service Organization. Recently accepted a role on the Pendleton Round-Up Board of directors.

Much of Mr. Willman's success stems from his equally accomplished academic background, which includes coursework at Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton in 2002 and a bachelor's degree in business administration with a focus on management and operations from Eastern Oregon University in 2019. Dedicated to the ideals of lifelong learning, he is currently pursuing an degree in water quality at Umpqua Community College and is certified in level IV wastewater treatment as well as Level II wastewater collection by the State of Oregon.

Throughout his career, Mr. Willman has received numerous accolades recognizing his technical proficiency and community leadership. In addition to his recent awards for sustainability practices and project innovation, he was named Wastewater Operator of the Year by East Oregon Region PNCWA in 2014. Reflecting on his storied journey thus far, he attributes his success to being present at opportune moments, making informed decisions and seizing opportunities as they arise — qualities that have defined both his professional ascension and community impact.

Happily married for more than two decades, Mr. Willman cherishes his family life and enjoys spending time with his son and two daughters engaging in activities such as volleyball and track meets. Determined to further his impact on community safety, he intends to complete a water quality degree at Umpqua Community College before seeking advancement to the role of public works director for the City of Pendleton. His journey from the Oregon Army National Guard to overseeing major environmental management projects exemplifies his legacy of helping others and serving the betterment of his state through everything he does.
