GROTTOES, VA, June 17, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Seth Arnold has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Marked by his expertise in project management, Mr. Arnold has led a distinguished career of more than 15 years in facilities supervision and life safety within higher education institutions. Since 2025, he has served as a project manager for Housing and Residence Life at the University of Virginia, where he oversees construction projects across the university's residential housing portfolio. Overseeing both minor renovations and major capital projects, he is responsible for ensuring full compliance with Virginia regulations, optimizing resource allocation and maintaining comprehensive oversight of all housing portfolio activities to support successful project deliveries.

Prior to joining the University of Virginia, Mr. Arnold held several key positions at James Madison University from 2008 to 2025. In his most recent role as an engineering project manager from 2024 to 2025, he was pivotal in maintaining customer relations and engaging with various university offices, including both the president's office and the governor's office. Additionally, he served as a liaison for the State Fire Marshal and the Department of Engineering and Buildings in Richmond.

From 2023 to 2024, Mr. Arnold worked as a project engineer with the capital construction and outlay group at James Madison University. In this capacity, he managed major capital construction projects valued over $100 million, a testament to his expertise in large-scale project management and code compliance.

Serving as a life safety supervisor at James Madison from 2014 to 2022, Mr. Arnold oversaw the management of fire alarm devices, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, defibrillators and other vital safety equipment across campus. His leadership was essential in implementing critical safety initiatives for students, staff and visitors as well as improving emergency preparedness throughout the university.

Earlier in his career, from 2010 to 2014, Mr. Arnold worked as a fire alarm technician at Tyco SimplexGrinnell, which armed him with key foundational experience in electronic security systems and fire protection technology that he continues to implement in his project management work today.

Alongside his primary roles, Mr. Arnold has been an active member of industry organizations such as the National Fire Protection Association and the National Association of College Auxiliary Services. His commitment to professional development is further reflected in his extensive list of certifications — including in people management, ethics-based culture building and advanced fire protection technologies — earned through LinkedIn, Microsoft, Lynda.com, Tyco and other reputable institutions.

Though Mr. Arnold's career counts many milestones, one of his proudest achievements to date is the successful rollout of an automated defibrillator program at James Madison University. Recognizing that existing resources within the institution were insufficient, he initiated a comprehensive safety initiative to ensure that a defibrillator would be accessible within 90 seconds during sudden cardiac incidents — aligning with American Heart Association guidelines. He also implemented cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training for employees through the facilities management office, certifying groups of employees to respond effectively in emergencies.

Another significant accomplishment was Mr. Arnold's involvement in the $120 million renovation of Carrier Library at James Madison. As part of the capital project management team, he assumed multiple roles during this complex undertaking — including inspector, auditor and project engineer — which involved a historically significant building that was originally constructed in the early 1920s. The meticulous process included cataloging and relocating all library materials prior to renovation. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the university, he was recognized with the Presidential Purple Star Award in 2014.

Also completing his own higher education at James Madison, Mr. Arnold successfully earned a bachelor's degree in business technology and human resources management in 2024. His academic journey was marked by perseverance; after changing majors several times during his undergraduate studies, he ultimately found his calling in trades work when he was offered a position at SimplexGrinnell — a company familiar to him through family connections. This opportunity allowed him to obtain an electrician's license while continuing his education part-time as a state employee at the university.

Beyond his professional responsibilities, Mr. Arnold is known for his civic engagement through various volunteer activities. He has served as vice president of education for Virginia APPA – Leadership in Educational Facilities since 2023, participated in community initiatives such as Blacks Run Clean Up Day, and volunteered on hot air balloon crews to provide free rides for elderly residents at retirement centers.

In his personal life, Mr. Arnold enjoys walking his two female German Shepherds and spending time with his fiancé and her two children outside of work. His resilience has been tested by significant health challenges since he was diagnosed with liver cancer attributed to a rare genetic factor — a discovery that was made in 2017 after he experienced sudden numbness that led to further medical evaluation revealing both liver cancer and multiple sclerosis diagnoses. Despite undergoing four surgeries related to cancer treatment and ongoing management of both conditions, he has continued to excel professionally while maintaining well-managed health outcomes over recent years.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Arnold envisions advancing into a role within the Office of the Architect at the University of Virginia with a focus on fire protection while continuing to make meaningful contributions to student living environments through thoughtful design choices. He plans to remain equally dedicated to public service before pursuing private consultation opportunities later in his career.

Showing remarkable determination and adaptability amid personal adversity, Mr. Arnold has built a legacy defined by impactful leadership in campus safety initiatives, innovative project management practices and unwavering commitment to service within higher education settings and throughout his community.
